First try at replacement rubber feet for PCG F Series…

Another version, closer to the original shape…

From top to bottom :

  • a failed attempt because Corel Draw or the laser driver forgot to rasterize an object,
  • the first version, using a shade property,
  • and the current version using proper gradients.

I might still tweak it a little but it should be usable already.

@SweetAIBelle @landley @OS1337 After all I got my trusty and it really struggles running due to 's feckup aka. non-willingness to support the properly so instead I'd rather take advantage of that 1600768px screen and just go full , since it's basically a dual 800768 screen...

Because there is no valid reason for that shit, when CF-19 were with toolfree swappable battery and devices like the were thin & light yet had toolfree-swappable batteries...

This evening I took out my TZ11 to install on it, and right away I noticed a few things, some of which I had forgotten:

  • The screen is damn good for the time, even if it's “only” 1366x768 the color rendition is great and the physical size a small-ish 11” which means pixel density is quite good.
  • Best keyboard ever in a laptop, IMO. The touchpad does not compare well with newer ones.
  • It's smaller than a MacBook, although not thinner than an Air, and lighter while having more ports, a SD card reader, and a combo DVD/CD-RW drive.
  • The spinning hard drive (I had no money for an SSD in 2007 prices) is surprisingly silent.
  • Haiku flies despite the rotating hard drive. The install took just a few minutes. Also: all hardware is supported except the webcam (which was painful to get working also on Linux).

Close-up of the laptop screen, showing a Haiku desktop. The user guide is open in a WebPositive window, and the software updater is fetching newer packages from the online software repository.

    @kubikpixel IMHO sehr halbherzig:

    • Verklebte und nicht [werkzeugfrei] tauschbare sind weiterhin erlaubt - auch wenn die Ladezyklen-Zahl effektiv & zugunsten von -Akkus verbieten würden.

    Es gibt IMHO keinen validen Grund warum Akkus nicht wie beim @Fairphone und @frameworkcomputer austauschbar sein sollten - wenn nicht sogar wie bei Notebooks alla welche trotz geringer Dicke werkzeugfrei tauschbare Akkus haben!

    Maybe I should pick my TZ11MN and have the latest beta installed on its spinning rust drive. It has already some old install, but from years back, seems worth a shot to try again after @ActionRetro's video the other day :thonking:
