Looks like I have to add #wordpress to the list of site that somewhat ironically can't (or refuse to) handle an email address with a .email TLD.

Thought I was being smart but looks like it's becoming a bit of a white elephant 😢

... well it finally took the .co.uk address after I removed cookies and refreshed the page.

Still narked at the refusal to access my .email account though - but it's unfortunately not uncommon these days.

@piouzi - I think it's on by default (which some will undoubtedly complain about) .. I can see conversations laid out in the same way as with the web app.

@piouzi - I did have to manually update to 4.0.13 (9182) and now I can see a boxed number to the lower right of certain messages indicating a conversation containing that many messages.

@piouzi yeah, it's a subtle change to the UI but I like the resulting view when you tap on a conversation

This evening I thought I'd take a quick look at Microsofts new #aspire offering, a stack for developing cloud-ready applications.

I was concerned that my decision to go all in on #mac and use #jetbrains #rider instead of Visual Studio was about to come home to roost but am happy to report that this was not the case.

I'm happily working through the tutorials and walkthroughs using #rider on a #macbook_pro.

Unpopular opinion: Britain's Got Talent should be limited to people who actually live in Britain - otherwise it doesn't make sense.

It's like letting greyhounds enter the Grand National or cats enter Crufts ....

When a non-Brit wins it's basically saying 'Britain has NO talent so we had to get a ringer in'.

My current client, like many others, uses certain Microsoft services but they've now enabled the need for two-factor authentication .... which under normal circumstances would be fine but Microsoft are forcing the use of their Authenticator app which I don't want to install.

I have a 2FA app already (on that doesn't record my location btw) why should I have to install another?

Trying to scan the 2FA QR code fails and entering it manually doesn't work either - Authenticator must ping an API

Finally sorted a particularly complex piece of functionality which dives deep into some rather knarly legacy code - all with the help of 'Music to Code By' (now Music to Flow By) .... thanks @carlfranklin

Its 2:30pm here in the UK and I'm still not feeling engaged with today.

Not sure why things are getting on top of me but still finding it hard to come up with any redeeming qualities about this country aside from my nearest and dearest

Everything is falling down and if I could move abroad I would - this place has gone to the dogs.

Being an 'on the fence' kind of person I don't mind paying for services that have a free model so that I can get extra features or support the developers - but I also like to self-host what I can if it makes sense to me.

I'm currently looking at 'read it later' apps like Instapaper and while I have an account already I'm wondering if there is a self-hosted alternative, preferably compatible with Docker so that I can maintain it more easily.

Any ideas?

@khalidabuhakmeh - do you how I can restart the code analysis in #rider

When I switch branches I frequently get this but after a clean & rebuild it does not clear.

If I click on the count in the IDE info bar (e.g. 42 errors in 21 files) it will open the next erroring file but the errors clear almost immediately meaning there isn't actually anything wrong from a compiler point of view.
The solution builds and runs just fine even with these in place is just masks any genuine error in the code

@khalidabuhakmeh @fornever - thanks, I'll give that a try next time. It doesn't really stop me from working but it is a bit irritating - if there was a way to restart/refresh the analysis without an IDE restart that would be great
