(2/2) The 2km/ 40min walk from Waikari to the rock art in Weka Pass Historic Reserve is a little steep & muddy in winter; being enveloped by low cloud (📷1) merely added drama to an already dramatic limestone landscape (📷2). By the time we reached the rock art shelter (📷3) it had brightened up, so the Southern Alps we’d not seen at all on the hill ascent were revealed (📷4).

When you find yourself catless on #caturday, just go to the cat park in Lima, Peru. While dining at a nearby restaurant, a stray kitty hopped on my lap and fell asleep until dinner’s end when she was promptly rewarded a little piece of chicken. #travel#peru

We arrived at the "lake with no name" late afternoon. At the exit of the lake a delightful stream fell out of the hidden valley. Don't normally take a tripod with me but yesterday I did. This meant I could slow the shot down to slow speed and close the aperture right down. Came as a complete surprise when I saw the subsequent image and the path made by water droplets seemingly jumping out of the stream. A memorable place.
