Metastream is underway: today, we'll dive deep into creating a Viewer Character for use in my further streams. In summary, idea is very similar to #StreamAvatars - little creatures spawn and roam around on the bottom of the screen, reminding of the viewers in chat.
But I have some nuances which I wish to cover with #GodotEngine. 👾 It's smooth animations, and physics, and #Peertube#LiveChat plugin support, and partial viewer authorization... Woah! More of that in the separate stream, but right now let's concentrate on the design part in #Inkscape.

People can be as upset about this as they want, but so long as they continue to watch #YouTube they continue tacitly supporting their user-hostile actions. If you really want to make a difference, stop watching, and tell content creators why. When you can convince them to move to platforms that don't shove ads down your throat every 3 minutes, THAT is when you'll see #Google change their tune.
I think perhaps there's a bigger problem here. People expect content for free. That was ok in 1997, and the net was a very different place then, however those of us who do create content have a reasonable expectation to get paid.
At one time YouTube paid out quite nicely, and then about 10 years ago they arbitrarily changed their method and it reduced to literally 10% of what it had been. However, regardless of the platform, it seems fair that creators should get some kind of payday.
Absolutely, and I'd never suggest otherwise! The problem is, we've collectively decided to pay for content on the Internet with our attention, which has led to any number of problems, while at the same time enriching a very small number of companies (and an even smaller number of billionaires at the top).
I tried to roll it out the other night, but had to back out because of a problem with the yunohost script. Currently waiting for a resolution to be identified.
Oddly enough, the update went just fine on our redundant mirror instance...

This has been a long-requested development from the PeerTube community, and something I hear from our #tilvids community all the time. What an exciting development from an amazing organization! 🙌
@tilvids@joinpeertube@Chocobozzz I know I say this all of the time, and I know it's already a stretch goal, but please advocate for an AndroidTV compatible app as well. The timing is right, esp, with YouTube shenanigans.
As it turns out, perhaps letting one company have control of both online video content AND the browser might not be in the best interest of the Internet or society...

Good thread by @FediFollows on some interesting #peertube accounts to follow. I recently discovered via @tilvids that there is an app for watching peertube on Android, I'm trying out @newpipe . There is a helpful video on #tilvids that shows how to install and set:up for peertube instances.

Indeed. I remember fondly when the Internet was a loose collaboration of websites all trying to raise each other up. The last decade has basically turned the Internet into a walled-garden controlled by a handful of very large companies, truly the worst of all outcomes.
