There was a time, when I dearly loved #TerryPratchett and #DouglasAdams, and they will always have a sweet spot in my heart for the many laughs and for all the cultural heritage, they left us.
However: Whenever I now grab one of their #books, their style and language feels terribly outdated and, frankly, boring to me.
Just finished The Light Fanstastic by Terry Pratchett.
I enjoyed it a lot, I’m not sure if there are more Rincewind books but whilst I enjoyed him as a character, I’m looking forward to reading about another part of the Disc next

I agree. #witchcraft and the wise people of any community watch and learn and know the secret ways because they listen, and know the signs of trouble because they pay attention, and can face the edges of life because they understand the consequences of no one doing so.
Death is this unexpectedly sweet and sad character that I want to befriend, take care of, and assure him that everything will be alright and that we all love him.

Apart from Death's speech at the end of the book, probably my favourite bit from the Hogfather. It feels like a very Pratchett moment, and really shows where the heart of the Discworld series lies.
On this day, in 1983, The Colour of Magic was published and the Discworld was unleashed on the Roundworld! What is your favourite thing about the Discworld and/or the best thing being a fan of the Discworld has done for you?
Today I set out to memorize the titles of all the Discworld books in order. I've made it to twenty (Hogsfather, which was over of the first I read) so far.
