Well, and now Mark Zuckerberg announces a test, where #posts in #Threads will be visible in the #Fediverse. That's interesting.
Here on this #instance, I don't see anything, but when I search on journa.host for @zuck, I'll get a SSL-error. So there is something there, even if it doesn't work yet. Anyone with more details?
On Reddit, browsing r/All by new would show so much spam, it was really pointless if you just were looking for content. One relied on reddit's algorithm to show you new stuff you hadn't actively searched for. The nice thing about Kbin, and the threadiverse in general, is that you can browse m/All by New as see genuinely...
I don’t know if this is the better place to post this, but this is something annoying me in the fediverse, especially using/following Lemmmy and Mastodon profiles/communities....
Hi Mastodon,
I would like to have "posts" by a Mastodonian easily accessible - as in its own column?!
Versus having to scroll through "boost" entries for 5 minutes or more to find a "post".
Thank you.
At 82 time is precious. #Mastodon#Fediverse
Cheers,
Peter
(Boy that came out very garbled the 1st time - hopefully it reads better now.) #Boosts#Posts
Wenn man denkt, es kann nicht mehr schlimmer werden: #Twitter hat am Wochenende überraschend Beschränkungen für die Anzahl der täglich zu lesenden #Posts eingeführt. 🚫
Hey #Mastodon. While scrolling down the page in the #Explore category, how about freezing the row/header that shows #Posts#Hashtags#People and #News so it is always visible?
Nobody wants to scroll all the way to the top to pick a different category.
It might be a good idea to have comment replies turned on by default, I feel like it'll help drive discussion/engagement but that's ultimately up to the devs
Is there a way to automatically mute accounts identified as being a bot? If not, I think that would be a great feature. That and automatic muting of accounts with posts predominantly not written in your native language. I wish I was multilingual but unfortunately I'm not. #mute#bots#posts#language
For those unaware, not only are #posts from people #NewHere who add #Hashtags like this in the bod of posts, #annoying for everyone... they make it REALLY HARD for people with screen readers (since most reading technologies will read the hashtags out loud).
Put your hashtags at the end of the post, and use CamelCase to make life easier for everybody.
This might be something for a future Mastodon update, actually. The way Tumblr creates a space for hashtags at the bottom of posts could be a handy feature to adopt here, for instance.
Just found out my #instance is closing down in 3 weeks so I have to find a new one. I don’t understand how any of this works with the #migration, I won’t lose old #posts but I won’t be able to see them? It feels like if I’m not from a #tech background then #Mastodon is not that welcoming, actually #sigh
I appreciate that the best way to search for and tag #posts is the #hashtag (thanks @chrismessina ) and not a black box #algorithm, but can we consider a less #obtrusive#symbol, like a .leading .dot or something to make posts more readable? (Gratuitous hashtags added for effect, but it’s not uncommon to see 5 or or more words in a 50 word post being hashtags)
I am curious, how many of you still read #blogs as I know this will be somewhat skewd beause a lot of you all are here more techy and such. But do you prefer more video content or even blog posts that have an audio version where you can stream the audio of the post.
Personally I still read blogs, but I will admit where I do a lot of multi-tasking work these days I typically use a screen reader to read aloud the post to me while I work if it is a particularly long post.
One of the advantages of being on Kbin is that you can scroll All by New, and see genuinely interesting content

Better Mastodon/Lemmy Integration? (leminal.space)
I don’t know if this is the better place to post this, but this is something annoying me in the fediverse, especially using/following Lemmmy and Mastodon profiles/communities....
I just noticed that notifications for replies to comments/posts are disabled by default, to enable them you just need to go to your settings and check the relevant boxes
