Sunshine through the branches of a dense forest path. A stroll through the woods, even for half an hour, helps me unwind and recharge my batteries. Photo taken in early fall, when the ground is covered by leaves but the branches are not yet barren.
At around 10C currently, this #spring is still starting out very slowly, but at least we have continuous sunshine today, so the neighbourhood is looking beautiful. :) #Photography#Nature#Outdoors
I ALSO encourage everybody to do the same. No dog required- and you spend some quality time out of doors! (Don't forget the sunscreen, though.) Happy Saturday!
So my gas lawnmower died and I took the plunge on a 40V Kobalt battery powered mower. While I can tell there's s little less torque it gets the job done just as well.
Then my chainsaw bit the dust and I bought a 40V Kobalt battery powered chainsaw. I was SUPER SKEPTICAL. A battery powered chainsaw? You've got to be kidding.
It's hands down the best chainsaw I've used. No fumes, pretty quiet, and the battery lasts a long time.
Let me show you one of Utah's natural wonders: Arches National Park. It's one of those iconic National Parks in the American West where you feel overwhelmed by the creative power of nature.
Last night when I arrived, I pitched my tent at the hiker biker camp at Fort Stevens and then headed out for a sunset beach hike. Checked out the Peter Iredale shipwreck and hiked a few miles on the beach. Sunset was beautiful. Currently headed toward Seaside, Oregon on the beach.
You did ask for stone circles in my next blog, so I have focused on The Hurlers, a triple set of stone circles on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.
However, I do venture to a pre-iron age enclosure, a long barrow, a site where a giant and a saint had a stone throwing contest, and the cave of an 18th century mountain philosopher.
For #WaterfallWednesday, here is a night mode and daytime photo of Fairy Falls along the Wahkeena Falls Trail. I took these photos on Saturday morning while hiking in the Columbia River Gorge. I love how the water looks blue in the dark.
In the western Bernese Oberland!
But spring is on hold with fresh snow, cold and wind! Nice in between; a bit brutal at times… should be better from tomorrow.
We seem to be getting a break from the rain so I’m full stream ahead preparing for my first backpacking trip of the year this weekend. The plan is to section hike part of the Oregon Coast Trail. So excited!
Photo is a view of the Pacific Ocean from Cape Meares, taken in August 2022.
After a spring thunderstorm passes, we are often left with amazing clouds and beautiful colors. Everything came together for one of those ethereal moments over this heart-shaped tree🙂. Tupelo MS
Nature: the perfect backdrop for pretending to be productive while staring out the window.🌍🌳Today is Earth Day, so let's appreciate this glorious planet before returning to mindlessly scrolling through cat pics.🐾🙃
Nature is filled with beauty and also fascinating. Migrating Canada geese can fly 1,000 miles in just 24 hours, often returning to the same destination year after year.
