Politicians have been trying to ID everyone on the Internet since it being released to the public. They won't rest until they control every aspect of our lives. Trumpers want to use it as a weapon to stop the free sharing of ideas and thoughts and identify their "enemies" in order to deny employment, and harass those individuals they cannot otherwise blacklist.

Fun fact. Talk about context. I met a guy who had a riding stable. While we were talking, he said that he would show up at re-enactments and parades, sometimes uninvited, in cowboy garb riding his horse and carrying a loaded .45 Colt Peacemaker on his hip and a loaded Winchester in the saddle holster on his horse. He said that not once did law enforcement of any kind check his credentials or point out he was illegally carrying.

Alchemist_Final,

@GreenFire Effective July 1st, 2023. I know many law enforcement and former law enforcement that don't like this new law. The laws on where you can legally carry concealed in Florida are quite restrictive. I bet the courts get bogged down with cases of untrained carrying in places that it's not legal to carry. Then again, maybe it's all about making $$ off fines?

Alchemist_Final,

@marchuff Today, police have to assume everyone is carrying.

Alchemist_Final,

@SaanichGuy @Homoevolutis0 I never kill snakes on purpose. I relocate the venomous ones and leave the nonvenomous alone. If I look, I can find a snake in my yard any day of the year. Most common are Cottonmouth, but there are some Racers and Rat Snakes around too.

Alchemist_Final,

@Homoevolutis0 Wasn't explaining anything. Just making a statement. Living in a swamp, you either learn to live with it, kill it, or kill it and eat it. I honestly doubt you have more than a few years on me. Most of my cohort is already gone.

Alchemist_Final,

@bkm How about made a video with a movie camera that was not powered by batteries?

Alchemist_Final,

@canayjun @bkm One better, standard 8mm.

Alchemist_Final,

@mmlvx @bkm Mine was a Brownie 8mm by Kodak and it was spring wound. You could take only 5 minutes of video at a time.

I can't believe how crazy these teenage polka parties have become right next door! My neighbor, Jake, has gathered a bunch of rowdy teenagers who are obsessed with polka. They dress up in these wild outfits with colorful, frilly dresses and suspenders, like something out of a carnival. The music they play is so loud it feels like my ears are going to burst. They jump and dance around like maniacs, crashing into each other and knocking things over. It's absolute chaos! I worry that this obsession with polka is corrupting the youth and turning them into wild, unruly hooligans.

Alchemist_Final,

@atomicpoet Are they playing squeeze boxes too?

Joking aside, the "baby boomers" you are insulting as not knowing anything about computers were also the people who invented the internet.
The oldest boomers born in 1946 had careers from about 1966 to 1998. Youngest, born 1964, from 1984 to 2016.

Aol started in 1985
Netscape in 1994
Geocities in 1994

Alchemist_Final,

@samloonie I was using the Internet before it was released to the public as "The World Wide Web." And my explanation is very simplistic.

Ok i know this is old news but I’m watching this jared fogle documentary and subway was told multiple times that he was a sexual predator and they did nothing except cover it up. How in gods name is subway still in business? Why would anyone eat there after this whole thing?

Alchemist_Final,

@enoch @LikeItOrLumpIt I think it's more than just processed meat, it's "sketchy" processed meat.

Alchemist_Final,

@pariahsickkid @LikeItOrLumpIt Tilapia is all the rage here. Of course it's all farm raised in SE Asia. I'm not interested in eating farm raised fish when I have no clue as to water quality, etc.

Alchemist_Final,

@LikeItOrLumpIt @pariahsickkid I also know some folks who wanted to farm Tilapia here, but there's no market because of the Asian imports being so cheap.

“Until a drag queen walks into a school and beats eight kids to death with a copy of To Kill A Mockingbird, I think you’re focusing on the wrong shit.”

  • Wanda Sykes
Alchemist_Final,

@augieray If drag queens, and minorities started open carrying in states where it is allowed and concealed carrying in states where it's allowed, then maybe we might see some gun reform. Remember in 1966, the Black Panther Party in California was openly carrying M-1s and Ronald Reagan freaked out and stricter gun laws were passed immediately there. Make history repeat itself.

Fun Fact: Pufferfish release a toxin when they puff out that is meant to impair the attacker, so they can safely escape. Ironically, this doesn’t work on dolphins in the same way. it gets them high. So, they purposely inflate them and pass them around to their dolphin friends for fun.

In the "classic rock" song Take the Money and Run by Steve Miller, the third verse introduces Billie Mack as a "detective down in Texas" who "ain't gonna let those two [criminals introduced in the first two verses] escape justice" and we don't hear jack shit about him for the rest of the song as those two criminals proceed to escape justice so I'm not sure what the point of introducing the character was in the first place. Unless, I guess, the point was "I am a dumb lazy storyteller."

Alchemist_Final,

@GrimmReality Songs just do that sort of thing.
