So instead of writing about motorcycle racing, I have spent the past few days writing about my obsessive quest for the perfect motorcycle navigation solution. The BMW Navigator VI is crap, and I can't integrate TomTom with the scroll wheel. So I bought a WunderLINQ, but which nav app to use? Kurviger? Cruiser? OSMAnd? And what exactly are the perfect routing parameters?
Your phone tracks your location data, and you may want some #privacy . Of course you can switch off #GPS , but then you lose #navigation .
If you run #Android , I recommend @organicmaps that allows you to download maps of your region and navigate without telling anyone. It's of course #OpenSource .
If you like it but miss feature X, I recommend #OsmAnd. It does the same, and has features X, Y, Z, ξ, đ and щ.
And send some money to them and to #OpenStreetMap that supplies the maps!

Falls jemand eine #opensource#Alternative zu #googlemaps sucht dem die Basisfunktionen reichen (ich will mit verschiedenen Verkehrsmitteln von A nach B) kann ich Organic Maps empfehlen. Nutzt die Karten von OSM und ist auch im #fdroid Store verfügbar: https://f-droid.org/packages/app.organicmaps/ habe die App heute vom Siegerland nach Rheinhessen mit dem Auto und innerhalb von Rheinhessen mit dem Fahrrad getestet. Funktioniert sehr gut. #Navigation

I'm designing a tidally locked planet, aka an "eyeball world" with high water content, violent storms at the subsolar point, and creeping glaciers at the antipode. Additional geography: tropic of Stars (the most sunward location you can see stars), and the tropic of twilight (the nightward circle where you can see the horizon).

Fehlende Einträge aus meiner Umgebung ergänzen und so der Gemeinschaft und den Menschen aus meinem Umfeld zusätzliche Informationen bei der Nutzung von bspw #OsmAnd zur Verfügung zu stellen. Natürlich ist der Haken bei "gemeinfrei" gesetzt.
Ob das so funktioniert sei dahin gestellt aber der Wille und die Ambition zur Umsetzung sind da.
