The UK has just completed commercial flight trials of quantum-based navigation systems that are designed to be immune to conventional jamming and spoofing.
Definitely annoying that there aren't a lot of resources for mid ranged maps. At least I think 400m x 400m is mid range. My flat 100x100 had no issues, but things got complex quick when we made a realer map.
An example of how #osm2gmaps will bridge the gap between #navigation applications in next release. This protects your #privacy if you use open-source applications and makes your life easier in all cases!
Here, by clicking on a #GoogleMaps link, osm2gmaps opens #OrganicMaps, the app I use every day for navigation.
i am using #Osmand for #navigation. the #f-droid version. i was so lucky with it, a long while it ran great on my old #samsung#galaxy#s5 on #lineageOS but now the crashes are back and its unusable again which it was several (partly very long) periods in the past. i don't know what they are doing that its such a pain in the ass; maybe they have problems to do a good memory management. i am very sad, because i love that app and its plugins. it nearly is able to do everything you would like to do with such an app. when it runs. now i'll try it with #organicmaps. seems to be spartan but stable. and it has no trackers. if you have any further ideas, you are welcome.

(Das Bio-bike navigierte ich bisher mit Openstreetmap und am Lenker angebasteltem Handy erfreulich anonym... man muss halt das Handy befestigen oder auf Sprachansagen vertrauen, das ist milde lästig)

Suche nach einer Navigations-App. Google Maps möchte ich nicht nutzen, obwohl alles drin ist, was man haben möchte. Organic Maps, Maps.me und Magic Earth sind so voller Barrieren, dass sie nich zu gebrauchen sind. Ich mag nicht glauben, dass ein Smartphone ohne Google nicht barrierefrei navigieren kann.

Wie navigierst Du? Karten-Apps: Von "Datenschleudern" und "Funktionsmonstern"
In einer kleinen Umfrage haben wir gefragt, welche Karten-App Ihr nutzt und vor allem: Warum? Was zeichnet die verschiedenen Apps aus und welche Apps können für verschiedene individuelle Anforderungen empfehlenswert sein?
Der Support antwortet ziemlich schnell auf Anfragen. Aus der App heraus kann man Support Anfragen stellen, welche dann als Tickets geführt werden. Das ist sehr übersichtlich. Die Tickets und die Antworten sind dann auch direkt in der App zu finden.
Das #Tempolimit wird angezeigt, allerdings wird man nicht gewarnt wenn dieses überschritten wird.
#Blitzer werden als Gefahrenzonen rot markiert und man bekommt einen akustischen Hinweiston.
Leider werden nur Online Karten benutzt. Laut Support liegt das auch am kollaborativen #Routing.
Die Ansicht und der automatische Zoom gefallen mir. Gebäude werden in 3D angezeigt, wie sie eben auch in #OSM eingetragen sind. Die Ansicht schwenkt auch immer ein wenig in die Richtung, in die gefahren werden muss.
Aus der App heraus kann man auch Kartenfehler und Sperrungen melden. Diese werden ziemlich zeitnah eingetragen.
