»OpenAI darf Reddit-Daten nutzen:

»Lemmy and Kbin: The Best Reddit Alternatives?
Love #Reddit but tired of what's happening to it? We check out #Lemmy and #Kbin, two open-source fediverse #alternative's that are growing fast.«
It had its high time approx. 90s to mid 00s. I very much enjoyed it.
It ticks all the boxes when it comes to #federation and freedom of interface: a number of web-based services, CLI tools like #slrn (mine), #Thunderbird and other GUI-tools.
Local communities are an interesting concept, though I am concerned about unintended side effects. I have noticed many times that people from other instances chime in to meta-communities to provide some alternative viewpoints and context when instances are discussing interactions with the rest of the network. I worry that some will become too isolated/sheltered. But I suppose, in the end, that’s ultimately up to the individual instances to decide.
Lemmy can now federate with Wordpress, Discourse and NodeBB.
Increased federation capabilities is always awesome to see!
In order to improve interoperability with Mastodon and other microblogging platforms, Lemmy now automatically includes a hashtag with new posts. The hashtag is based on the community name, so posts to /c/lemmy will automatically have the hashtag #lemmy. This makes Lemmy posts much easier to discover.
This is a clever solution. I think this is a good way to go about it.
RSS feeds now include post thumbnail and embedded images.Security
I really appreciate the continued attention given to keep RSS alive.
A security audit was recently performed on Lemmy.
Awesome! And congrats!
Added Community local_subscribers count
Support for custom post thumbnail
Indicate to user when they are banned from community
Added alt_text for image posts
Great features for improving the polish and user experience on Lemmy!
So I want to make the Mastodon experience with Lemmy a bit easy experience.
As of the moment they are just marked as groups but I feel it needs another indicator that it is a forum based account instead of just 'group'... Will try and see if there's something I can auto-do in Mastodon itself.

The band Lemmy called AC/DC and Janis Joplin combined
A lot of the time, the tone of a band can stop them from writing about specific subjects, but this band combine two of the most contrasting artists out there.
The /c/cybersecurity community on Infosec.pub has new icon and banner artwork courtesy of @bolo ! It already makes the space look nicer if you ask me 🎨 😄
My, perhaps #controversial, #hottake is that I prefer idly browsing #4chan now to #Reddit. For as crude as it is, 4chan is at least human in a way that Reddit just isn't anymore. 4chan is vulgar and crass but vibrant. Reddit is full of people that appear to just #seethe online all day, regardless of their political leanings. Eternally hurling insults from afar for the approval of fellow defeated seethers and bots.
I've written a bit of an extensive guide on navigating ActivityPub and its many apps, and instances, along with some initial questions new users might have, and links to mobile apps.
UI differences are a big factor in the success/failure of decentralised federation of diverse platforms and content
And this seems a good example: bridged #mastodon posts onto #BlueSky which has a lower character limit than Mastodon.
So, just like #lemmy posts on mastodon, you don't get the full content of the post (which ends with an abrupt ellipsis here) and have to take a link to the original platform.
However powerful the underlying protocols, this isn't far from screenshots.
Why are most of the posts here heavily downvoted?
Why would you visit the “conservative” section just to downvote everything? I don’t get it.
