One of the best things about living in Glasgow is turning a corner and finding yourself looking up at a roof like this!
The former Ogg Brothers Department Store at Paisley Road Toll was designed by Bruce and Hay, and was built in the 1880s. It's topped by the Spirit of Commerce and Industry, who is perhaps better known as the Kinning Park Angel, the Angel of the South, or simply Mrs. Ogg.
Commemorative stone on Mavisbank Gardens in Glasgow marking the commissioning and construction of the Cessnock Dock, later renamed the Prince's Dock, on the south bank of the Clyde. With 35 acres of water, it was the largest dock on the upper Clyde and it cost almost £1,000,000 build and equip. It closed in the 1970s and in the 1980s, it was filled in. In 1988, it formed the site for the Glasgow Garden Festival.
Wie ich den heldenhaften Kampf gegen das Mäuseklavier und die Partitionierungstools auf Windows und Mac doch noch gewonnen habe. 😅

Climate advocates protest in downtown Kingston against deep-sea mining
The placard-bearing group shouted chants urging citizens to “say no to deep-sea mining” while standing at the Kingston waterfront across from the Jamaica Conference Centre, where the headquarters of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is located
#Seattle folks! If you're in the #EdmondsWA area they are asking for feedback for their #urban plan! They're doing what we want, more medium housing, more transit, more walking and biking. But NIMBY-ers are quickly filling in the comments and calls, literally with phrases like "anti cars" and saying they need MORE parking lots, less housing. PLEASE boost and share with your other friends, let's encourage #cycling and #transithttps://edmonds2044.infocommunity.org/

CBC was on a tear yesterday, with a whole slew of stories about Medicare showing a system in collapse.
One thing I didn't see a story about was lobbying, corruption and personal profit motives driving provincial premieres.
Everything that's wrong with our healthcare system goes back to capitalism. Every solution put forward by provincial governments has been more capitalism, so they can personally profit and soft-land on a private board of directors somewhere.
@zazzoo Did CBC make any mention of the family doctor shortage in Ontario?? Why they're leaving in droves?
This lineup is outside a medical clinic in the city of #Kingston.
Hundreds of people, young & old, lined up hoping to get a FAMILY DOCTOR!
This is Premier Ford's #Ontario where nearly 3 MILLION people have no access to a doctor. #DougFord's Ontario where he pays Shoppers pharmacists DOUBLE for a unsolicited telephone medication review to what he pays family doctors to do in person.
The Marine Museum of the Great Lakes is an amazing place to visit when in #Kingston, ON. The recent acquisition of the SS Keewatin just makes it better. The volunteers who maintain this facility's operations definitely deserve this award. #GreatLakes#History
I took this image last December, with the house surrounded by fencing and next to a block that had already been cleared.
The house is gone now. It didn't quite make it to 100 years....
Glasgow's red sandstone buildings really glow when they catch the low winter sun. You might not believe it, but this picture of the 1903 Kingston Public Halls on Paisley Road, which was taken late yesterday afternoon, is completely unfiltered and unedited, other than a bit of cropping.
Make sure you put your goggles on first #ottawa, or you'll be blinded before you can get your crampons on. If you didn't flip up your wipers already, well, too bad.
