Seit dem Messerangriff von Mannheim mehren sich Forderungen, Abschiebungen nach Afghanistan zu erleichtern. Laut Experte Ruttig könnten sich die Taliban darauf einlassen - im Gegenzug für internationale Anerkennung.
Back in 2022, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei chose not to release the super-powerful AI chatbot, Claude, that his company had just finished training, opting instead to focus on further internal safety testing. That move likely cost the company billions — three months later, OpenAI launched ChatGPT.
Having a reputation for credibility and caution in an industry that appears to have thrown a large chunk of it to the wind is not a bad thing though. Claude is now in its third iteration, but that caution remains, with the company pledging not to release AIs above certain capability levels until it can develop sufficiently robust safety measures.
TIME’s interview with Amodei gives an insight into what the AI industry might look like when safety is considered a core part of the strategy.

One job interview question I try to ask that I strongly recommend people copy is “can I see your list of pages?” Ideally the full list from PagerDuty but whatever you can get is good.
This tells you everything you need to know about the team you are joining. See a lot of pages that repeat and are snoozed forever? If a team isn’t empowered to fix alerts that wake them up, that means they’re not empowered to do much of anything.
What’s funny is people who try to track and account for pages instantly know why I’m asking, but if you don’t care often they’ll let me see the whole list which is amazingly informative. #programming#interview
