9,000 women have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza to date.
An estimated 37 mothers are killed every day in Gaza.
9 in 10 women report finding it harder to access food than men.
3,000+ women may have become widows, and new heads of households, following their male partner’s death.
155,000 women in Gaza are pregnant or breastfeeding, with 5,500 expected to deliver in the next month.
Because it's #InternationalWomensDay, every woman is allowed to propose one (1) new law. It must be a silly, low-stakes one which has little impact on society other than to solve one of your pet peeves.
Mine is: 'make it illegal to illustrate articles about female pleasure with photos of someone fingering a piece of fruit.'

Today is International Women's Day and I'm reflecting on the growing misogyny, transphobia, and legislative attacks on women. Our generation is the first to not only see rights halted but in many places rolled back.
Whether you live in rural Alberta and need to drive literally hours to deliver your baby, a trans woman needing gender-affirming care, or a woman needing to access birth control.

Women have always carried heavy burdens. Working on my family tree, I come across pictures that literally make me gasp. The women's dead, sometimes fearful eyes. Many gave birth 10, 15, 20 times. It was expected. No kudos. No breaks. No vote. Given the chance, the current GOP and their tradwives will take us back there. No thank you.
