Children in #Crimea forced to write "thank you" letters to the military occupiers from #Russia invading their country #Ukraine and committing atrocities on their relatives and fellow Ukrainians.
Have to call this out.
This bill has already passed the house.
A trojan horse of a bill that will undermine the first Amendment and the people's rights.
What's in this bill that fascist Republicans are thrilled about?
Our comrade #FionaLali just launched a campaign for the coming #ukelection as MP for Stratford and Bow.
As communists we should have no illusions that the problems of the working class can be resolved by parliamentary means. This campaign will be used at every turn to expose the #tory and #labourparty alike as war criminals complicit in British #imperialism.
For healthcare, not warfare!
For books, not bombs!
Kick out the war criminals!
One of the reasons for the invisibility of #AntiAsianRacism is inextricably connected to #ModelMinorityMyth. The myth focuses on #stereotypes of #Asians as hard-working, independent, intelligent & economically prosperous.
Stereotypes hide many issues & disappears the realities of working-class #AsianWomen’s lives.
I bring that up only because many #fascists / #WhiteSupremacists really love to recruit #POC & exploit them to try to show public - we ain't #racist because we have #BIPOC people who support us.
Guess what folks? POC with massive #InternalizedRacism & #InternalizedMisogyny are easily recruited/exploited by #bigots for evil purposes. It's not new. It's been happening for a long time. It goes back to #colonialism & #imperialism divide/conquer tactics of Indigenous peoples genocides, globally.
Even the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee has admitted that Plan Colombia was a resounding failure from a counter-narcotics perspective while providing short-term benefits from a counter-insurgency perspective.
As regular readers are by now well aware, the Commander of US Southern Command (SouthCom), General Laura Richardson, has a rare talent for saying the quiet parts out loud. She also has a penchant for dividing the world into a Manichean struggle between good guys — essentially countries and governments in the US’ neighbourhood that are aligned with “Team USA” and “Team Democracy” — and bad guys — primarily China, Russia and Iran, and their allies on the American continent, which has helped her to win hearts and minds on Capitol Hill and among the Neocon think tanks that help to shape foreign policy in Washington.
These two talents were on full display in a recent talk at the Woodrow Wilson Center, titled “Preserving and Strengthening Democracy in Latin America”. In one exchange with the moderator she laid out in disarmingly candid, unabashedly neo-colonial terms how SouthCom — the command unit of the US Department of Defense she heads up, which is responsible for providing contingency planning, operations, and security cooperation for Central and South America, and the Caribbean — views the role of Latin America and the Caribbean in the US’s great power rivalry with China and Russia: (READ MORE)

Why the French authorities have so much interest in keeping #NewCaledonia under French colonial rule?
Global nickel prices have soared since deadly violence erupted in the French Pacific territory of New Caledonia last week.
The overseas territory, which has been under French rule for over 170 years, is a major global producer of the critical material that is needed to make electric vehicle batteries, solar panels, steel and other everyday items.
What Scotsman was caught up in a civil war before the age of twenty? Wrote a book that became the inspiration for an Oscar-winning film? Met a runaway teenager in Paris and married her against the wishes of his family? Lost his ranch to raiding Apaches?
Our book EMPIRES & REVOLUTIONS: Cunninghame Graham & His Contemporaries contains essays exploring ideas of revolution, emancipation, equality, & liberty in the works of RBCG & other Scottish writers of the period—in print & online via Project MUSE

They can’t wrap their head around the fact that Russia was, and still is, a colonial empire. Because the tribes, peoples and civilisations they enslaved and russianised, all had white skin.
After 75 years of failure, one would imagine that a people would learn what works and what doesn’t, both from their own experience, as well as the experience of others.
Decades after 1948, #Soviet propaganda would cast #Israel’s birth as a venture in #imperialism. But as the historian Jeffrey Herf’s 2022 book Israel’s Moment shows, it was #imperialists in Western governments who were most hostile to #Zionism, and anti-imperialists both in the Western left and #Communists and #socialists in both East and West who were most sympathetic.

Arabs suffer from a long and systematic stereotyping from the West. From the Orientalist movement of the 18th century till today, Western perceptions of Arabs and by extension Muslims, are based on what they have been conditioned to believe through the media be it in the form of literature, art, and more recently, movies and...
Israel is not forcing the U.S. government to support genocide or pass slanderous anti-Palestinian resolutions. No one is holding your representatives captive, controlling them from the outside. Israel is a tool for U.S. hegemony and they are complicit in the maintaining of that relationship. #israel#usa#gaza#genocide#imperialism

If Israel escalates by attacking Iran and striking at the country’s infrastructure, then Iran’s counter will be to take a page out of Russia’s book and commence the one line of attack which Israel, the US and their allies cannot withstand any better than Ukraine – that’s Electric War.
For the seven months which have elapsed since Hamas began its operation against Israel on October 7, and Israel commenced its genocide against the Palestinians, there has been no targeting by Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, or the Syrian and Iraqi groups of Israel’s highly vulnerable maritime gas platforms, gas pipelines, coal and oil-fired electricity generating plants, the coal and oil storages nearby, solar and wind power units, or the electricity grids keeping the country alight.
The Arab inhibitions and calculations are understandable. Iran’s will disappear if Israel triggers a new round of attacks.
