Binding of functions with optional return values is an obvious hack. It’s commonly done in #Icon, for example, by having a procedure in a chain of computations FAIL rather than RETURN.
The list monad is widely used by authors to produce a list of some Pythagorean triples. This is so easily done with just a single tail recursive function as to make the monad version pathetic. :)
I just wandered around for 20 minutes looking for the drink I brought in from the porch, finally gave up and poured a new one, then immediately found the first one.
A "friend of Dorothy," is a coded phrase used by #LGBTQ+ people in the past to identify fellow members. The term came from #JudyGarland's role in "#TheWizardofOz," and Garland's status as a #gay#icon. Murray's reference to Christian as a "friend of Dorothy" in "#Clueless" was a nod to this #history. The phrase has since become a part of #queer#cultural#lexicon
Easier to learn if you already know #Icon or #Unicon. Also if you know #Prolog or #Mercury, which are other languages that have goal-directed evaluation (which which are declarative, whereas the Icon family are procedural).
(Please fork rather than expect support, though. I am an elderly disabled person.)
@TheByteAttic I did this just for fun. I have no idea what to do with it. 😝 But I wanted to show it to you (I hope you find it funny) #agonlight#blackbelt#icon
I was initially skeptical of this story, but it proved to be real! At some point (around 18 - early 19 century) in #Ukraine, artists painted #Orthodox#icons on... dried #fish !
How come? TLDR: these icons were used a sort of a very special professional #protective#charm by a particular type of traveling #merchants. For a bit more details (and illustrations), see the thread below 👇
I'll start off my first -real- post with, well, me!
This is the third ref sheet I've gotten for myself, back in 2020 and made by Isvoc over at http://isvoc-art.com/. The previous one lasted 6 years, and really the only reason I got the new one was to clarify a few things; that and Isvoc was one of my first choices originally so I did it now that i could!
Overall I guess you could say my look dates back to at least 2006, with just tweaks where necessary.
For this #DragonArtFriday I think I'm going to go back to icons... and while I know I could get several weeks out of spreading them out, they're not large individually, so here we go~!
