All four dolls now have their skirts and collars. I need to add some bows, and a few other things. I have their stands with cloches ready and waiting.

A really interesting article on the rarest DMC colour, DMC 724. It was the perfect gold colour, and was licensed exclusively to Disney to colour winnie the pooh in branded cross stitch kits. #crossstitch #embroidery

These dolls are beginning to come together. I have four, smallish cloches, that I will be using in conjuction with this group of dolls. Each will be holding a protest sign.

I'm discussing with someone which #lace pages in #Wikipedia need the most help (a lot of them do), but we got totally sidetracked looking at Lady Scudamore's outfit...damn. And huge respect for Gheeraerts' talent for painting lace. His page...whoa.

Every time I finish one of these colour themed pompom dolls, I realize that I have to create another one to make my colour set more complete. #artdoll #handmade #oneofakind #smallartbusiness #wool #embroidery #beads #sequins

The dragons progress. The red tongue, white teeth, and eyes are done. Next is the black pupils, nostrils, and "eyeliner." Then, I start outlining both dragons.

I've created a larger pompom doll in my favourite colour! The little hats make them look a bit Jack in the Box -ish. #handmade #doll #wool #embroidery #workingartist

There's a place nearby that works with , in particular, that proudly hires and otherwise marginal employees that I think would be a nice place to start when I have my visa and can look for a steady income.

But my sewing skills are still very amateur, and I haven't used a sewing machine since I was ten or eleven.

So... I would like to buy myself a , and some materials for practicing the .

The machine I've got my eye on is 140€, which is a good price but more than I feel safe spending at once right now. I've got some uncertain medical bills coming up and would very much like to not run out of savings because of it.

So! I've started a new goal on my page and would appreciate some boosts!

https://ko-fi.com/handmadehearts/goal?g=0

I'm passively asking for donations but encourage requests. I want to work! I'll embroider something by request without sending you the physical object for anywhere around 10€, as a cheap option. 3€ if it's very simple. Any other ideas, things you'd like me to do, just hit me up. I'd really like that sewing machine! 😸🤌

Anyone I know do embroidery? A semi-friend is looking for pattern testers. This is limited to people in Canada & the US For logistical reasons.

Just completed a small gift to say a big thanks to a colleague. This floral sprig is from the 1796 Lady’s Magazine and was originally designed as a sprig repeat for a gown or apron. But I rather like it on this cotton handkerchief. #ladysmag #embroidery #georgian #needlework #fiberarts @fiberarts

I finished it today! So technically Kaveh’s version is the reverse side without the heart-like part on the bottom but I’m just going with the “he put it on backwards” headcanon with my cosplay because this side is pretty and I’ve made my pronouncement 💕

The same goldwork brooch but from a centred angle. The piece is made up of different gold threads and cords
An earlier stage in the process, this shows the brooch mounted on organza in an embroidery hoop. Two parts are missing, showing the faux leather template underneath.

The reason they all have their little arms above their head is because it's easier to add the embroidery work to their bodies that way! #handmade #workingartist #wool #embroidery #beads #sequins

Recent finished object - the bi pride opossum by Studio Ansitru: https://studioansitru.bigcartel.com/product/bi-pride-possum-digital-download-only

Needs a wash and frame still but it was sitting on my shelf unfinished since last pride so it was nice to finish it finally. A wash in hot water will fade the grid from the fabric.

Yaaay my 50mm cabochon arrived and I got started on making it dendro (the Genshin grass/ plant element). Should be finished with the entire thing by the weekend and I’m excited because it looked really nice when I propped all the parts together as a draft

The same template with gold threads being sewn onto it. The cabochon now has a green iridescent background and the Genshin Impact symbol for Dendro (the grass/plant element) in it

NEWS: Here is a page put together by Knitty, supporting the many vendors and instructors who just got screwed by the sudden bankruptcy of Stitches. If you are planning a purchase, buying from one of these folks will really help them out.

Pale blue linen gauze scarf with embroidery I made using deep greens in simple embroidery for flower stems and then white silk ribbons in various sizes to make the petals, with yellow cotton thread to make french knot centers. I drew the flower scene free hand and used Sulky Tear-Away stabilizer which worked great. This photo is the fabric doubled - it's quite sheer and delicate so stabilizer was a must. Thx for your advice when I was working it out. #embroidery #silkribbon

Sketched out a new embroidery design idea tonight before bed. A very stereotypical wildflower design, but it should still be fun to do. :)

Now I need to decide colours and nail down which stitches to use where… :needle: :thinking_rotate:
