Hard as it may be to believe, since April SSE's #windfarms have been under-performning by around a fifth in the #energy fed into the national grid.
The claim is that 'adverse weather conditions' reduced their ability to generate #windpower... by which I assume they mean not windy enough?
Of course, we cannot know how realistic or otherwise their projections were (they may have been hyped for #investment purposes?), but as a #cyclist in the NW, let me tell you its been windy enough here!
I know drivers can be dicks when it comes to cyclists, but when you see a #cyclist with two GoPros strapped to his helmet, it's then entirely unsurprising to see him lecturing a taxi driver two minutes later.

Made it to this morning’s park (alive). On the way, I encountered 3 motorists who were actively aiming for me, even though I was in the bike lane. I’ve begun to use “may you have the day you deserve” as an affirmation instead of hurling invectives at ppl like them. I first saw this affirmation in Black spaces, and I use it now bc it’s powerful in its simplicity.
I had to go and buy something and so I hopped onto my #bike and made sure that I had my #BikeLock with me. Got to the shop, only to realize that I’d forgotten the bike lock keys! They’re on the same keyring as my car keys and separate from my house keys.

I could have risked popping into the shop and hoping that it would be ok but there was a fellow #cyclist who had also just arrived. I asked him if he wouldn’t mind just looking after my #cycle while I was away for two minutes. Happily he agreed and we parted with a friendly farewell. It is nice to have #civility confirmed in daily life now and again. #CyclistsHelpCyclists

Green arrow is the #BikeLane. Red arrows are #car lanes, also for #motorcycles. Behind the yellow & black concrete barrier is the #bus lane. Blue arrow is where the light rail train is.
The bus lane used to be where the bike lane is. Good thing they moved it away... on most* parts of EDSA.

I often like to do thought experiments while #cycling and sometimes I can’t think all the way through to the end of the answer. Here’s a recent one for #physicists who specialize in #relativity. A #bike's #wheel rotates such that the bit in contact with the #road is instantaneously at rest with respect to the #ground (no skidding), at least in #NewtonianMechanics. On the other hand, the bit diametrically opposite to it is moving at precisely twice the speed of the #bicycle...
Now, imagine a #cyclist with the speed of #Hermes and the strength of #Heracles who can go as fast as possible but within the confines of what we know about the real world. If the above still holds, about the #tyres of the bike, then, in the limit, the top of the wheel can go no faster than the speed of light, c, and the mass of that bit of the wheel increases without bound. Does that mean that the bike itself cannot exceed c/2?

My review of Amazon's $18 padded bike shorts: The pad is in the wrong place on these. It sits too far forward. That means that it is barely covering the sit bones. Also, there's a lot of pressure up front. If you are average or larger, this isn't going to be comfy for you. Expect numbness where there shouldn't be numbness.

Taki mały #throwback do zeszłotygodniowej ultrarajzy z Sopotu do Gniezna przez Przekop na Mierzei i Malbork. Pierwotna trasa została zmieniona w trakcie przepływu na drugi brzeg Wisły. Finalnie było 370 km, podziwiając piękne krajobrazy i odkrywając ciekawe miejsca. No i kwadraty:))
