Behind the scenes in #banking, it seems bankers (either ignoring or having forgotten the lessons of the global financial crisis of 2008) are looking for new 'more sophisticated' ways of getting #credit risk off their books, to further enhance their capacity to lend.
At the same time that Basel III (the international banking regulatory mechanism) is tightening up regulations on previous credit risk models, 'innovative' banks are looking for new routes to achieve the same.
So all this business about Nigel Farage screaming blue murder because he's been politically victimised by Evil Woke Lefties at his bank?
The truth is a lot more prosaic:
Farage banks at Coutts, which is a private bank and has strict "minimum account balance" policies. It seems that Farage simply fell below that threshold, so they asked him to move his accounts to their normal persons bank: Natwest.
That's it. No victimisation, no politicisation. Just Farage is down to his last couple of million or something.

So Huw Pill of the BoE admits that #interestrates policies are a 'powerful' but 'blunt' tool to fight #inflation while warning that high(er) #food prices are likely here to stay for some time.
He went on to say that the BoE cannot mount 'surgical strikes' to help certain sections of society... (that would be unless its the #banking sector I assume?)

Everyone needs a reminder every once in a while. A chirpy email from the bank about Changes To Your Privacy Policy that ends with
"We'll share some of your data with fraud-prevention agencies ... This .. helps prevent fraud ... Just so you know – if your account’s involved in fraud, you could be refused certain services such as mortgages or getting a job."
Better get the details right then, lads, hadn't you?
We've seen the growing incidence of #banking deserts (where towns have no bank branches at all), now as #Boots will close around 300 #pharmacies in the UK in a bid to 'optimise' locations, the Q. is how will this impact local communities?
Positively, it may remove a competitor from local (and regional) pharmacies allowing them to capture more provision of #medicines & associated products, but;
negatively, where Boots has already driven out the competition, will we see new pharma-deserts?

I just got emails that sure looked like official messages from my bank saying I'd added a Zelle recipient and sent him a bunch of money.
Of course I didn't click on any of the links; I just went to my bank's website and checked my accounts, and everything is fine. Also: The Zelle messages referenced an account ending in four digits which match none of my bank accounts.
So a warning that fake messages like this are circulating.
