Life has had me very busy lately! Finally catching up on all of the gardening and weeding the heat wave kept us from. It's still hot...92 today, but it beats 99!

I painted my portrait of a bald eagle in vertical format, but cropped it to a contemporary square format, so you can decide which format best fits your space.

Dunton was a founding member of the Taos Society of Artists, becoming famous for his depictions of cowboys and the American Southwest, but also for his fascination with black bears. This is a great example of both Dunton's work and the Taos Society style.

I spend a lot of time and effort trying to learn to draw real things, which for me, is very challenging, and at times, frustrating. I want drawing to be easier, yet, I’m contstantly reminded of how difficult it is. So sometimes I just play with colors without any concern that my art portrays a recognizable object.
