Just another day. Nothing really new happens in my day-to-day life. Just workouts and bulking. Here's a song for my mood. Today's weather is really nice :SataniaThumbsUp:
Beyond Skyrim is a monumental project, with a couple mod releases under their belt - Bruma in Cyrodiil and a visiting ship in Dawnstar. The music is, unsurprisingly, also exceptional.
It's #VGMWednesday this week with the theme #mymood. As I have a bit of an headache I tend to hear rather soft/relaxing music right now. If I would pick a VGM OST for that time I would pick something from the Va-11 Hall-A OST. But as I recommended the good songs already how about the new Opening for Persona 3 Reloaded "Full Moon Full Life":
#MyMood is a bit down/worn out, but not in a depressed sort of way? I feel like I need to curl up with a good story and rest a while - maybe something like Valkyria Chronicles.
I really like both versions of the track "No Matter the Distance," though it only featured in the OST/promo materials afaik. It's one of those tunes that draws you into the story, and makes it feel more like you're about to play an anime than fiddle with a controller.
The theme today is #MarioMelodies, a tough one for me because I generally don't vibe with Mario soundtracks. Yoshi's Island and SM64 are the exceptions, here's a great cover of my favorite track from the latter.
Well, can’t go wrong with In The Final/The Grand Finale, the final boss theme from Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story and one of the most iconic Mario battles themes ever:
VGM Wednesday has returned, and the theme is "Super Sixteen Bit!" This makes it tough to pick one, as the 16 bit era had some amazing tunes on both Megadrive and SNES (and I'm sure other machines that were not so readily available). There are so many good soundtracks from the time, from the Sonic series, to Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Gunstar Heroes, Castlevania, etc.
However I think I'll just provide the Boss Theme to my favourite JRPG, Chrono Trigger. It's a classic
For #VGMWednesday, with the theme of #SuperSixteenBit, may I present the underrated U.N. Squadron soundtrack, which is full of absolute bangers. These are my favorites:
This week’s prompt from @miona is favourite music of the 16 bit era. My pick is for a game called Mech Platoon which actually featured a brief video clip in the intro sequence - amaze!
This week @miona is BACK for VGM Wednesday! Welcome back!
She comes at us with a fantastic theme of "Super Sixteen Bit."
From the Genesis / SNES era, one of my favorite beat 'em ups is Comix Zone. For those who never played, it tells the story of a comic book artist who gets pulled into his own comic by it's main villain. He then has to fight from panel to panel to survive. It's cool and has a 16-bit rock inspired soundtrack.
It's #VGMWednesday and todays theme is #SuperSixteenBit One of my favorite and most played Sega Megadrive (Genesis) games was Streets of Rage 2. The soundtrack is still a banger!
It still blows my mind that composer Yuzo Koshiro was only 22 back then 🤯 He started composing video game soundtracks when still in high school. Check out a photo of his setup in 1989 in this recent feature:
