I hear what you're saying @Bossito but you need to consider that #EU foreign policy (and indeed many other policy areas) is still almost entirely driven by member states' political interests, in particular ex-colonial powers like #France, #Italy, #Spain and to some extent #Germany. So yes, #colonialism must absolutely be part of any EU #history exhibition.
Two months ago BBC exposed that some Ukrainians avoid being recruited as soldiers with a monthly payment to the heads of the recruitment centers.
I told u that War in #Ukraine IS NOT what Spanish media is reporting
It is a TRENCH WARFARE where drones are part of the combat tactics of infantry platoons Soldiers must continue holding the line despite being wounded and death toll is staggering
Only when u die does a military chief think that u should be replaced but sometimes it is not possible
@nf3xn
Fact 01: It's trench warfare and Russian and Ukrainian soldiers die. The media in #Spain only tell about the Russian dead.
Fact 02: A deserter explains to the BBC journalist how his squad was reduced to 27 dead and 57 wounded. He is the only one still standing and because he escaped to Romania
Fact 03 If you like war so much, why don't you serve there 💩? Is it safer to #Troll on #Mastodon while your #Ass gets fat, right?

I remember those videos, where you could clearly see from above persons being injected from within the police line into the front of the peaceful demonstrators. Next they mingled a bit and then started to apply violence against the police.
I also remember how the #EU commission by mouth of Frans #Timmermans started a victim blaming campaign. Even when the UN demanded the release of #Spain's political prisoners he continued his campaign.
In #Catalonia during 2017-2019 the Spanish police routinely infiltrated peaceful demonstrations to incite violence, so as to justify police violence against demonstrators. The secret police was caught on tape, repeatedly; the videos are all over the web, a well documented and recurrent event, and there were no consequences for anybody on the executive or legislative branches. The Spanish government simply pretends it didn't happen and is getting away with it.
I am not able to understand how can any "consolidated democracy" (as per the Financial Times table and nomenclature) retain or merit such a title with these sort of iron fist tactics over its very own citizens. The European Union's treaty, Article 7, says that any state that applies violence against its own citizens will be expelled from the Union, and yet this didn't happen either. In light of these events it's hard not to entertain the idea that the whole political system is a kind of farce.
All I wanted was to stay in Malaga, Spain for the month of September. Finally found a nice apartment, reserved it, sent all the necessary documents etc.. turns out its a scam. #europe#spain

"The #HeatDome is likely to expand as it strengthens in the coming days, possibly spreading as far north-east as central #Europe and bringing highs of more than 30C to parts of the continent each day. #Spain will be particularly badly affected and is likely to hit the low- to mid-40s celsius daily, particularly across southern regions."
"The #heatwaves recorded in #Spain and wider Europe this summer have also worsened a prolonged #drought, lowering reservoir levels as #water evaporation and consumption increase and prompting authorities in Catalonia to impose restrictions."
"Here we publish a statement from La Cinètika, an autonomous centre in Barcelona that was a target of this violence. Solidarity with the survivors. Mort a l’estat policial.."
"Insgesamt drei verdeckte Ermittler in Spanien waren offenbar auf Personen und Gruppen angesetzt, die sich mit Polizeigewalt, Antikapitalismus und Gentrifizierung beschäftigen. Frauen zeigen enttarnten Beamten wegen Missbrauchs an.

Is Spain 'doomed' to unemployment? Although its job market has been breaking new records with the number of unemployed at a 15-year low, it still tops EU's unemployment rate.
Spain's 11.6% unemployment rate is far from the average for the eurozone, which stands at 6.4%, and for the 27 EU countries, at 5.9%.
For Raymond Torres, Director of International Economics at Spanish think tank Funcas, the data shows steps in the right direction.

Pic while at #wellington Stadium for the #Netherlands 🇳🇱 v #spain 🇪🇸 quarterfinal match. Like so many #USWNT fans I bought these tix assuming they’d finish at top of bracket and make it through Round of 16. I ended up at a pretty exciting game, nonetheless @wwc#mastodonfc
