EVIL DEAD RISE is coming to HBO (I refuse to call it Max, it's stupid) on Friday for the US. So excited to finally get to see this movie.
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is raising the cost of its HBO Max streamer in the Nordics, Iberia and Bulgaria, ahead of the roll-out of the Max branded offering.
At this point I am more impressed than upset by how bad the #HBO#Max app is at remembering what shows I've recently watched and where I left off
Somewhere there is a shitty #coder and a shitty #qa holding down employment in a hard economy so maybe things aren't so bad in the #tech industry after all....
I'd actually pay MORE money per month if you change the name back to HBO Max (and stop #DavidZaslav from ruining the platform). I HATE the logo. Hate not having HBO. Hate the decisions Zaslav's made. All my colleagues, friends and fam agree it's devastating to lose #HBO, our old friend. Many of them have never known the name of an entertainment CEO. But they know Zaslav just as they knew Bob Chapek. And they know he, too, shall fall.
As far as I can tell, the only big difference between #HBOMax and #justMax is that the branding is blue now, just like half of the other streaming platforms out there.
Well, y'all, #HBO's rebranding is going really nicely for #blind people. The iOS app presents a perfectly useless CAPTCHA dialog after entering your email and password. The only way that the dialog box can be made accessible is by using screen recognition. Then you get to identify an animal sound from three options and type in your option. Once the audio plays, the entry screen disappears, meaning you can't enter the number.
It's like they didn't bother to test this with anyone
So based on the above, if you want to watch #HBO content on your iOS device and use Voiceover, do not download the #Max app yet. I can't say how long the transition will last and will let you use the old app.
They could have used many other strategies to verify you as a user (including email verification, phone verification, or no verification at all). They deliberately added an unnecessary barrier to the signin process for #blind people. It's utterly Ridiculous.
Almost every week now, + despite statements to the contrary, by many #AI#scientists and #programmers, the utopias of #IsaacAsimov and #PhilipKDick (+ others 1)) are making a leap forward.
Due to all the white noise + the hype regarding #AI most of the general public.
...more importantly, #AI can finally learn to differentiate between fiction and reality.
This said, I am "finally" being joined by renowned #academic from #ComputerSciences in my skepticism, which coincides with my stance (though I do not agree with his choice of fiction, see boost of older thread in the follow-up):
