Trying out @MonaApp on the #mac and one of the little details I like is that when you’re looking at the local and federated feeds, it refers to what are often referred to as “servers” or “accounts” by other #mastodon clients as “communities.”
This is subtle, but captures a key feature of the #fediverse - your server doesn’t have to be just the place where you access the network, it can also be a community that you are a part of.
I prefer the profile page shown by Ice Cubes.
Mona’s Composer lacks a language button!
Mona can do some things better than Ice Cubes, but some things less good. The differences are minor like for example as shown in the images. However. Mona is fluent on the Mac which Ice Cubes really struggles at.
People using Apple Studio Display with more than one computer, how do you deal with it? You must plug in a different cable? Which end? How smooth/fast/easy is it to change?
i think i‘ve tried almost all mastodon clients for ios in the last couple of months and i‘m still hugely impressed what the mona app can do compared to all the other apps out there. it‘s so versatile and feature packed! not to forget the wonderful themes that are regularly available via @chamona
The most versatile and customisable app - Mona for Mastodon is FINALLY out of Beta and available to the general public on the #iOS, #iPadOS and #Mac App Stores. #MonaApp
So, I prefer to keep my Mac's menu bar visible, but there are times when I would like it to disappear. I would like a simpler solution to opening settings and turning it on/off.
I've looked, and there doesn't appear to be a shortcut or even app which I can can just hide it.
Hey Apple/Mac nerds! :) I don't use Mail app at all, but my dad does, and it's doing a thing where it comes up from nowhere by itself, and will put whatever he's currently doing into a split screen. It's acting possessed (i.e. corrupted but he can't download a new copy). He can't exit the app or change the screen "without going to the spinning beach ball of death". He's pretty tech savvy and rebooting his machine doesn't work. He's got an iMac running Catalina 10.15.7. Any ideas? #Apple#Mac
For those of you with a #Mac#Laptop, do you ever turn yours off, or do you leave it plugged in and running over night? Why?
Do you find that leaving it on and plugged in causes any deterioration with the battery? #MacOS#Computer#Computing#Tech
@peterme Not true unless you mean the first to display graphics inline on the page. #TimBL’s original WorldWideWeb on #NeXT was a GUI browser and editor, and Mosaic was preceding by Erwise and ViolaWWW.
Along with graphics on the page, the Mosaic team also quickly released Microsoft #Windows and #Mac ports. That’s why it was the first popular graphical browser.
