#RussVought has helped craft proposals for Trump to deploy the #military to quash #CivilUnrest, seize more #control over the #DOJ & assert the power to withhold congressional appropriations —& that’s just on Trump’s 1st day…
Since #Trump left office, Vought has led the Center for Renewing America, part of a network of #conservative advocacy groups staffed by fmr & potentially future Trump admin ofcls.
Trump's team is more focused so far on building a sprawling network of "#ElectionIntegrity" #lawyers & #PollWatchers than on rounding up organizers & door knockers to reach voters.
It's a sign that 5 months before Election Day, the legal battle is underway —& that Trump PLANS to cry "rigged" if he loses, as it did after the #2020election & his #felony#convictions.
"Now, we have to debate about my right to say what I want to say instead of debating about what I actually said"

A case brought by the DOJ was just denied a jury trial because Google cut a check for $2 million dollars.
Business practices that likely impacted business and consumers to the tune of billions in potential damages, a company that generates $60 Billion in revenue on search and ads every fiscal quarter, a judge looked at the DOJ brief and said:
Court decision o' the day, allowing a false-advertising class action to proceed against Cold Stone Creamery because its pistachio ice cream contains no pistachio. The decision is full of bad puns and song lyrics about ice cream including Weird Al's "I Love Rocky Road".
New data from #FixTheCourt
on the value of gifts members of the court received & reported over the past two decades. Still the gifts aka bribes NOT all reported.
One of these Justices is not like the others. Clarence Thomas, Flag guy Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Handmaid are not qualified to work in the legal profession in any capacity, let's call it, as it is.
Clarence Thomas acknowledged on Friday additional luxury travel he had accepted from a conservative billionaire.
He amended a previous financial disclosure to reflect trips he had taken to an Indonesian island and a secretive all-male club in the Northern California redwoods.
The trips, taken in 2019, were earlier revealed by ProPublica, but it is the first time that Justice Thomas has included them on his financial disclosures12.
Other Supreme Court justices chronicled their gifts, travel and money earned from books and teaching.
Last year, ProPublica documented an array of undisclosed luxury vacations and other gifts Thomas has received over the years from several billionaires, including Crow.
Legal ethics experts said that Thomas appeared to have violated the law by failing to disclose the trips and gifts.
The Thomas revelations helped plunge the Supreme Court into its biggest ethical crisis in the modern era
Since then, #Trump & his advisers have prepared an attack on limits on presidential spending authority. On his campaign site, Trump said he will push #Congress to repeal parts of the 1974 #law restricting the president’s #authority to spend federal $ w/o congressional approval. Trump also said he will unilaterally challenge the law by cutting #funding for certain programs, promising on his 1st day to order every agency to ID “large chunks” of #budgets that would be halted by presidential #edict
That pledge could provoke a dramatic #constitutional showdown, w/vast consequences for how the govt operates. If #Trump returns to office, these efforts are likely to turn typically arcane debates over “#impoundment” #authority — or the president’s right to stop certain spending programs— into a major political flash point, as he seeks to accomplish via #edict what he cannot pass through #Congress.
