Thanks to #DW for producing this comprehensive debunking of the "#hydrogen future".
It's ridiculous how many companies are peddling this stupidity (e.g. for home boilers because "we already have gas pipes") and #EU governments are buying into it.
@Odaeus This is pretty generic anti-hydrogen and pro-battery propaganda. It's basically just market from people who have specific goals and use environmentalism as a way to make money. In reality, fuel cells are electrochemical systems just like batteries. They are fundamentally necessary to solving climate change. Naysayers are practically climate change deniers by refuse to acknowledge this.
Zukran claims these stores sell bags they advertise as recyclable when they aren't.

A new and silent land grab is underway – we must stop it - By Ian Scoones, Angela Serrano, originally published by Open Democracy May 20, 2024
“For us peasants, land is not just an investment or something we own, but is part of our lives and our existence”, said...the Network of Farmers’ Organisations & Agricultural Producers of West Africa at a meeting co-convened by the Land Deal Politics Initiative...and activists concerned about the rise of land, water and green grabs.
...Participants of the meeting agreed that policy debates on land have...been stuck in the hallowed halls of the UN or government bureaucracies, where they are captured by market demands, such as offsetting. The subsequent ‘solutions’ then end up incompatible with local livelihoods, failing to consider food-provisioning, as well as people’s cultures, histories and intimate connections with nature..."
"Major oil companies have in recent years made splashy climate pledges to cut their greenhouse gas #emissions and take on the #climate crisis, but a new report suggests those plans do not stand up to scrutiny.
The US firms Chevron, ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil each ranked “grossly insufficient” on all 10 criteria."
Big Oil n Gas in #Canada will also keep producing climate disasters.
Key conclusions of their assessment are that “Canadian oil and gas companies have released a range of complex, misleading climate change pledges that must not be taken at face value.” Moreover, “despite all the talk from Canadian oil and gas companies about climate leadership, their current business plans would fuel further #climate disaster and global injustice.”
@Eka_FOOF_A The materials used to just build one of those is unsustainable alone. It's whacked priorities when planet is suffering multiple climate crisis points.
@msquebanh
The majority of the body is stainless steel, and thus easily recycled back into stainless steel. Most of the rest can be ground up into what is effectively high quality ore. They are also being designed to be reusable hundreds of times, like aircraft are.
As for the planet, beat on politicians who aren't forcing climate change mitigation. SpaceX already has their plans. It's just still better to use the electricity for offsetting fossil fuel use rather than making green methane.
