Although wildfires are not great, I am somewhat excited my software to map these is working out and drawing pretty pictures and auto-tagging fire names. #software#wildfires#gishttps://m.ai6yr.org/
We’re delighted to announce continued flagship-level sustaining membership of QGIS from @felt. Felt’s contributions enable us to continuously improve QGIS’ functionality, documentation, and infrastructure.
Felt continues to enhance the 'Add to Felt' plugin, making it seamless to get #QGIS maps on the web. With @northroadgeo's help, their recent release includes raster data support & improved compatibility between QGIS & #Felt styles!
@ehrba My answer not as a #GIS professional but enthusiast and long time #Linux user: Any distro you feel comfortable with. If you're expecting the latest releases, try some rolling release. Otherwise, my usual suggestion, #Ubuntu, has been misbehaving a little with #snap (#chrome sometimes not being able to launch or access user's files because of a technical issue), so probably not that. I'm a #Debian user, so my personal suggestion is Debian stable or testing.
Wondering about putting some sort of geospatial meetup on the #emfcamp schedule - just a time to meet in the lounge/bar and geek-out about geo. What do you think @Emily_S@ultrazool@Laura (I think I got the right Laura!) and anyone else geo I know going?
Here is an update on what I'm working on. #buildinpublic
I'm exploring auto styling #OGC Vectortiles in #mapstyler. In this example, the population density is styled based on a user defined color. Very happy with these first results.
I'm just not sure about the map readability of this implementation. The coloring scheme is of course dependent on the distribution of the data. So I guess additional options for categorization of the data are needed.

“James Morrison, head pilot and UAS ("Unmanned Aircraft System") lead at Ordnance Survey, discusses the use of drones in mapping and surveying. He shares examples of how drones were used to quickly assess landslips and update mapping in the Isle of Wight, as well as capture data for residential housing developments. James explains the different types of drones used by Ordnance Survey and their capabilities, including capturing imagery with centimeter-level accuracy…” #GIS#spatial#mapping#OSRapidMapping#engineeringgeology#remotsesensing#UAV#drone#survey#UK#England#UAS#aerial#usecase#efficiency#podcast @OS

I fear the good days may be over.
