The Magnolia Grandiflora is a southern beauty and probably one of my most favorite flowers. This one is in the process of unfolding and teases us with the exquisite elegance that is yet to come. They do have the most heavenly fragrance too.
Every spring, this oak tree and azalea-lined drive explodes with spring color. Azaleas bloom but once a year here in Florida but boy, when they do they put on a show. This wasn’t full bloom yet but worth photographing anyway.
Growing Wild - I look forward to the wildflowers every year. Such an abundance of daisies, queen anne's lace, clover, dandelions, and more. We never mow them down as they attract so many butterflies and bees. Here, you can see the web trails of caterpillars dangling from the flower.
Beautiful meditative walk this afternoon to get groceries.
Happy Friday!

This slender beauty of delicate flowers with bright colors is the state flower of Colorado. It and a lovely variety of flowers in the garden at the Cuchara Yacht Club last summer were attracting butterflies, bees and the Hummingbird Moths.
For years I've tried to grow asters, specifically fancy asters. This year I gave up, bought some more common aster seeds, and broadcasted them into my wildflower patch, thinking it'd be a miracle if these came up when my carefully seeded fancy kinds had not.
Lo and behold, my flower patch is full of asters right now.

"I wonder about tulips…how they somehow find a way
To grace us with their beauty before they slowly fade away.
If only people were more like tulips and could somehow find a way
To grace this world with beauty before they slowly fade away."
