#Gruoch was barking at something in the garden. Upon investigation I discovered this chap(ess) sitting on the garden fence.
I know, I know, Grey Squirrels are two a penny in the city. However, still nice when they come to the garden. Not his/her fault they are an invasive species.
I've not been doing very well with #PhotoJanuary2024 - just haven't managed to get into the swing of it properly - but this popped into my head when I saw the weekly themes of "in the street" and "alignment".

Meanwhile yet another bloody student block planning application in my area, which is already over-saturated with existing student blocks, while what we actually need are homes for residents of the city...

It's worth noting how many of #GrahamLinehan's comedy characters end up exiled or marginalised because of their bizarre behaviour, vileness or stupidity.
It was as if his subconscious was trying to warn him not to be such a tosser.
(Note also how the #BBC frames this story as being due to a difference of opinions rather than Linehan being such a raging transphobe.)
"#FatherTed writer Graham Linehan comedy show cancelled over gender views"
Morning: sorted out marking allocations for all my department's MSc dissertations, then replied to reviewer comments on my forthcoming handbook chapter about sound changes 'from above' and 'from below' 🤓
Afternoon: met with the university's official mediator about how transphobia is creating a toxic work environment, only to discover, after two hours of good faith communication, that she is skeptical that it's as bad as we say it is 🤯
Yes, yes, I concede that people don't like when you stand behind them, lean in close, whisper in their ear that you are behind them. But they do have the habit of just stopping, in doorways and at crossing points and generally in places that cause maximum obstruction. A loose group of 6 people spread across the pavement says good. Stopping mid-step to check their step counts? A tickle and a whisper tends to be motivational. #postcard#edinburgh
Behind again on commenting on events I've been to. So, first show yesterday was Fall & Flow, big Hong Kong martial arts cinema, as mime dance slapstick. Five performers & musician. Heroes, villains, thieves, ninja, stolen babies and magic swords. Fun stuff. #edinburgh#fringe#festival#dance
Booked a trip to #Edinburgh with my daughter for May next year. Terribly excited! Taking any suggestions for things to do and see that may not be on the usual lists. Great coffee shops? Book stores? Street food? Pubs? Can we get a Morton’s roll? Should I try Irn Bru? Local beers(I like pilsners) Afternoon tea? #Scotland#JoinIn
One day in beautiful #edinburgh what to do?
So far I'm planning on 2 (maybe 3) charity shops and high tea at Luckenboots and walk around the centre
Any other tips?
If you are looking for nice place for a #DogWalk, in the south of Edinburgh, I can heartily recommend Gore Glen Woodland Park. It is just south of Newtongrange. and not far from the City Bypass.
Why do drivers think this is acceptable? Entire car driven onto pavement, at a pedestrian crossing, for added insult. Regular occurrence at this student block on Dundee Street.
