📖 According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, the world will end on a Saturday. A Saturday quite soon, in fact.
The whole of our six-part adapation of @neilhimself and Terry Pratchett's wonderful 1990 fantasy Good Omens is on BBC Sounds now - and you can listen from anywhere in the world. Tell your friends, good or evil.
someone on a Japanese hacker forum decided it was a good idea to spam the entire Fediverse because they wanted to cancel a minor that DDoSed a Discord bot which apparently made them lost millions (what?)
A Discord bot. I can't make this shit up man.
The real culprit seems to be someone who goes by mumei in the ctkpaarr.org forums, whose first post was literally a threat to ap12, that if they don't delete their "Kuroneko Server" Discord bot, they will spam every blog, forum and SNS and cancel him.
This shit is ridiculous.
The ap12 account from mastodon-japan was actually fake, and this dude impersonated a minor to get all of the Fediverse (us) to bully him.
With all the hoopla around Punk/Elite, I thought it’d be a good time to post this anthology. For those who don’t know, TVChase was a reddit-user with a strong background in gathering and examining information (they worked in a newsroom, I believe). Their series breaks down how the feud may have been a work from the very...
French Actress Sarah Bernhardt was born #OTD in 1844.
Called "la Voix d'or" by Victor Hugo, "la Divine" by others, or "l'Impératrice du théâtre", she is considered one of the greatest French tragédiennes of the 19th century. The first international "star", she was also the first actress to make triumphant tours of all five continents, Jean Cocteau coining the term "monstre sacré" for her. via @wikipedia
I logged in to Twitter this morning to see what the latest #furry#drama is about.
I'm increasingly convinced that the site is a nest of unknowing sadists who get their kicks from calling out and hurting other people using every fickle excuse they get.
The masochists are not their victims though. The masochists are those of us who keep scrolling through it.
Sunset over the pacific. Twilight, just before all the light of day is gone. The sun makes a final salute, setting on fire the clouds above and ocean below.
This is one of Nature's drama queen moments, but unlike human drama queens, emotive skies and flamboyant lighting are a show well worth watching. The only thing that chases me away is a deluge of rain, and even that won't push me inside if I can find something craggy to shelter under.
If you have not seen this classic film (probably the best DC film ever!), then I suggest you take some time out during the weekend & watch V For Vendetta this weekend.
V For Vendetta highlights life under an authoritarian regime & is more relevant today than it was in 2005 when the film was released.
I believe what made V For Vendetta powerful was the fact that the movie reminded the masses that they had surrendered power to a centralized, authoritarian government & it was up to them to seize that power back.
Here you had a government promoting fear & chaos...
“The Story of a Recluse”, a 1985 TV play by Alasdair Gray, is based on an unfinished tale by Robert Louis Stevenson. Starring Peter Capaldi, Stewart Granger, Cristina Higueras, & Andrew Keir, & featuring Alasdair Gray as himself, is now available on the Alasdair Gray Archive’s YouTube channel
I think there's more #nature than nurture. I was 5 when #StarTrek, #BattlestarGalactica, #StarWars, The Man from #Atlantis, Bionic Woman, etc were my thing. The lengths I'd go to not miss Star Trek reruns at that age! Soaps and dramas were made for "stupid people who complicate life for no reason", was my opinion as a little kid. That opinion hasn't changed at all now, at 50 yo. I fall asleep with most human-caused #drama. It doesn't teach me anything new.
I heard the term "attention farmers" used in context of "haters" trying to spin up #drama with conversations on #social (usually because those get the most likes/reposts). Love that term.
Time is precious, so little I have of it. Focus on productive things and be a barren wasteland for attention farmers.
The oldest entry on IndieWire's list of the best teen dramas was first broadcast in 1979, but the majority of shows that made the cut are from after 2000, when there was a huge boom in the genre. Here's the magazine's ranking of 42 shows. Which do you think came in at No. 1? Take a look at the list after you've voted and tell us if you think they got it right.
Just woke up after a day offline and after seeing the mess i decided to jump ship
