Stuck on testing the #snes'es, so I thought I'd do the display ribbons of the other two #virtualboy I have. This one had the controller stuck in it. It was jammed so far in, beyond what should be possible, it broke the supports of the controller port board and could no longer connect. Connected the controller/psu to it directly and tested it. It works, no ribbon reflow needed (yet). And then I remembered I was supposed to set up a #casaos server tonight...
On the one hand, I think I managed to get some containers & VMs set up how I want in #Proxmox. I’ve got #CasaOS running on a Debian VM and Ubuntu Server idling in another, along with 2 types of containers ready for #Docker experimentation.
On the other hand, I forgot I have an early work meeting tomorrow.
On the gripping hand, it’s not like I ever manage to go to sleep at a normal time anyway…
Wow!
Got this little fellow, an Argon One M.2 the other day, and looking to set up a few services on my Lan. Still waiting for a few things to arrive. Intrigued by #CasaOS but have zero knowledge about #Docker. I played around a little on an old #RaspberryPi 3 over the weekend just to familiarise myself a bit, but after installing a few docker apps the whole thing froze. I've used #Linux for years, I'm just a regular user, not a Dev or sysadmin, but projects like this can be fun. #ArgonOne#Linux
I learned about #CasaOS last night, for #SelfHosting. A very interesting product that I will try out, except it doesn’t have #seafile, the one app I want to look at using.
I'm thinking of putting together a #homeserver Things I want to have are #nextcloud, media streaming and some #pihole-type filter. What would be a #cheap system to start trying things out? What about the OS? #CasaOs looks gorgeous, but any recs welcome!
I've had a ton of fun setting up and configuring a ZimaBoard and CasaOS over the last few weeks! While CasaOS is a great fit for your Home Server projects, I also decided to walk through over 20 other home server projects you can start today. These projects are for everyone, from the beginner, to the tinkerer, to the hardcore enthusiast!
I've been running a #Lemmy instance on #YunoHost for a few months now, and while it works fine it's an outdated version so I've been trying to reinstall a new Lemmy instance using the official guide.
And holy crap does server administration ever suck. It's unbelievable to me how still, even with "containers" etc. it can't just be "Download this file and it'll start". A few nights of confusion and frustration later and I still don't have a working server :ablobcatkeyboardbreak:
@anji I'm still messing with #Casaos for my homelab but I think their nginx proxy app should make possible managing these frictions fairly easy (including TLS letsencrypt certificates.) the only thing missing is the ability like Yunohost or Cloudron do, to deploy new app tied to a domain via the DNS api of your domain registrar for a frictionless experience.
