I just received this from eBay USA: "SimCity Classic - Deluxe Edition for Windows". Pretty much the definitive version of SimCity Classic. The Deluxe Edition will install both the official SimCity graphic packs and the Terrain Editor.
I finished dumping 99.99% of a very old, damaged, backup CDROM that was previously unreadable. It took 3 days and I was super excited to find what old data I put on it. The disc had UDF sessions, because that was common at the time for just Adding Files non-rewritable media.
So I mount that shit in my Windows 98SE box, and lo and behold, this is all that was on it.
I would be absolutely upset if it wasn't so fucking funny
#Mastodon massive and #CDRom/#RetroComputing hobbists I need your help. I want to get a heavy usb CD ROM drive for my computer so it doesn’t slide around. I figure I might as well get something that’s interesting to look at. I was looking at a 2000s era Iomega. Does anyone know of a relatively fast external sub CD rom drive that looks neat and perhaps essoteric. They make cool purple one but it’s only 6x speed.
24 Hours in Cyberspace 💿
(a companion CD-ROM to the book of the same name)
This 1996 disc includes:
"...a digital time capsule over 160 stories about how cyberspace has reached out and changed the lives of people all over the world."
@JohannessNilsson but once the "minimal 1440kB FDD SSH Client" version of OS/1337 is completed and working, I do plan to look at a "#BootFloppy" option to launch a more useable #Linux from #CDROM or #USB...
