Eight years ago we were in Europe and our travel plans got upended. As a result we had an unplanned stay in Amsterdam and got to visit the Keukenhof Gardens on the last day they were open for that year. We knew nothing about them but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
As a freeloader watching all the #BloomScrolling posts, I thought I should do my bit by posting some of the tulip photos I took during that visit.
How is everyone this evening on this totally free platform where no one is trying to sell you anything? 😃
Had to block some folks for the first time on here. I guess that's just maintenance, like turning the soil. Enjoy the fuchsia petunia 😁 #BloomScrolling
Realized recently that I’ve only blocked 7 accounts in the 7 months I’ve been here. Most of those were also blocked by my instance for bad behavior. It’s nice to feel empowered to keep my timeline stress free here on Mastodon.
Here’s my contribution to tonight’s #Bloomscrolling — pink gaura from my front garden.
My pink oyster mushrooms. These are the same jar, but a few days apart, the pink fades as it ages. Also the same one that was releasing spores in my video. A single jar has so many changing landscapes to explore. Landscapes that kind of feel like they were designed by Georgia O'Keeffe.
I’m so proud of my flowers and shrubs this year! I don’t have a green thumb and usually psych myself out from even attempting to grow anything, but I’m really trying this year. These pics are of established plants that came with the house, so I just need to let them do their thing and focus on not accidentally killing them. This year, for the 1st time, I actually tried pruning them. Seems to have helped! The rose bush is the fullest it’s ever been. 🌹❤️
These are Colorado wildflowers I am trying to grow myself for the 1st time this year (also, ever). They are covered up with netting to perfect them from an impending hail storm so the view isn’t great. Only pics so far of the ones that seem to be succeeding, but crossing my fingers that the others pull through too (looking at you, black eyed susans!)
And finally, my daylily (and one more close up pic of the purple coneflower, because I’m very excited about that one!). Despite the bent leaves and brown/yellow spots, I have discovered a bud! Go, daylily, go!
What are y'all's favorite hashtags to follow on here? I enjoy cute animals, landscape photography, and science writing. Would love some recommendations as I get settled in.
