Dropped Midnight studio (left) and decided to read recaps instead. I actually soldiered on with Now, it's Showtime and I want my time back, even if I fast forwarded and skipped a lot of scenes 😅 Too many filler scenes, uneven story telling which didn't manage the comedy and angst well. And worse of all, boring 😅. With Midnight Studio I got bored by the 4th ep because I just knew where the story was going, and judging by the recaps I was right.
These are the #Kdramas and #Cdramas that I plan to catch up with this year. I have a feeling I may end up dropping The Legends, because I have very little patience for xianxia, but since it stars Xu Kai maybe I'll give it more of a chance :P

Example: I’m watching a ‘typical’ time-slip murder-mystery kdrama called My Perfect Stranger on Viki. Low budget. 16 episodes. No hype. Good acting chemistry but not spectacular. But somehow the script is very strong (same writer behind Tale of Nokdu). And I still can’t predict whodunnit and am nearly finished! Addictive!
All six seasons of "Lost" are arriving on Netflix in the U.S. on July 1 — that's 121 episodes, from the pilot to the divisive finale. Total Film's Emily Garbutt says that some fans are lobbying for a re-evaulation of the final twist. She quotes one: "My firm stance remains that 'Lost' is good and the finale is great and haters will be welcomed with open arms on the right side of history after they reevaluate." I don’t know why; it’s just been on my mind recently for some reason," writes Crime Reads' Olivia Rutigliano. She's created this list of fictional presidents from TV and and film who've committed felonies, including President Fitz from "Scandal," President Frank Underwood from "House of Cards," and more. "As I just said, these are fictional examples, so if some real guy who was elected the President of the United States of America committed anything equivalent to these things in real life, it’d be way, way worse," Rutigliano concludes.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin. I knew when I first saw the trailer of this vaguely historical comedy series with Noel Fielding in the title role that me and my daughter would love it. And indeed we did, laughed wholeheartedly at the silliness of it all, and the many dick jokes brought on by the lead character's first name. It's nowhere near on par with Blackadder, but it's clearly in the same vein. The series reinvents Dick Turpin (one of the most notorious and ruthless highwaymen in English history) as a shallow but good-hearted man ticking all the boxes of modern deconstruction (vegetarian, gender-fluid, etc.) who falls into highway robbery by accident and likes the fame that comes with it. Marvel is rebranding its TV shows to show fans that they don't necessarily have to watch everything in order to understand what's going on. “The hope is that, like the comics, you can just pop in anywhere and have a satisfying experience. We’re trying to dispel the idea that you need to do any kind of setup work to watch anything else,” says Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's head of streaming, TV and animation. @CultureDesk@billyjoebowers I wouldn’t mind keeping up if the stories felt different and took more story-telling risks. The sameness and lack of depth got super boring. Even if the quality fluctuated or the stories didn’t always land for me, it would have been better than the surface-level stories that never got deeper than “look at our snarky action heroes.”
@rayckeith Yeah, it is frustrating. I find Tubi to be unwatchable precisely because of the ads. Product placements in shows are offensive enough, y’know?
At least here in Canada, only the latest season is on Disney+. We were promised all 13 seasons of the reboot, with Classic Who still in talks. It was pulled from Crave, so I cancelled Crave, signed up for Disney+, and binged The Orville, Futurama, and all the Star Wars I could stomach waiting for RTD’s specials and the new season (and what a season!).
Still no sign of any other seasons.
As for Androneda, only the first season is available to buy outright on the Apple TV store, which is a little suspicious. This reminds me of the time they “replaced” Farscape with the new remastered versions by deleting the series from the store, AND my library, then re-adding it as a new show to force repurchase when I already own a license. Okay, I admit it, I did it for Farscape because it’s Farscape.
So on THAT note… I know what I’m watching tonight. Y’know. Assuming I can manage to put Starfield down before falling asleep at the console.

I have found the old dr who unwatchable (not because of ads). sometimes it feels like they hate their audience. surprising because I watched tom baker when I was a kid, on public tv.

Whenever I'm really enjoying a Drama like #CDrama 'Fake It Till You Make It", I get nervous nearing the end: "Will it stick the landing?" It did & gave me the rare treat continually upping it's score its score right to the end, finishing on 10.25/10 - SMART dialog, sweet, stunning chemistry between 2 skilled leads, the bonus is for the perfectly grounded feelgood realism of the very end. It's also seen #CDrama move from 4th to 2nd in my average ratings, bumping #KDrama into 3rd
I wonder, are dubs licensed differently compared to the original Japanese cast on Anime shows? Like I have found a few shows now on HIDIVE that have English dubs and the same show are on Crunchy Roll but with no dubs, or is Crunchy Roll just dropping the ball here?
