I have this idea for something...I have celiac disease, and I realized that one of the most difficult things I deal with is a lack of clarity on which items contain gluten, especially in other languages.

What if we had universally accepted allergen icons used on all prepacked items?

@annaecook That would be great in principle, but the main issue is that the labeling is wrong a lot of the time.

We have a gluten detection dog (my wife and I both get neurological issues from gluten) and often stuff that doesn’t say anything about gluten is gluten free and stuff that’s “certified gluten free” has gluten in it. :(

If you or a friend has celiac, a wheat allergy or sensitivity to gluten: a lot of paper products can have wheat-containing glue in them; for example paper towels and paper plates.

We (or rather our gluten detection dog) found Dixie plates are safe.
