@fasterthanlime oof, which make of TV? I'm torn between improvements in OLED longevity management that updates might bring, and then bullshit like this.
When you mouse hover on a specific result in #Bing , the card zooms slightly and during the transition the text is really blurry. It's fine when the animation stops.
This is on my work laptop, so I've no idea if drivers are up to date.
I’m experimenting with Listmonk, a self-hosted email tool, and I am considering switching to it for managing my list and sending messages.
As a nerd, I’d like to take you on that journey. I am very early on this journey, but if you would like to get weird experimental test emails from me, sign up here:
@ernie Just in case you need to know the workflow, after clicking the confirmation email I think it also wanted me to hit "Confirm Subscription" on the page that opened, whereas I think typically just clicking the link confers confirmation.
@ernie just got the first email, where would you like feedback? An email reply or here?
I got the email at night, and so in dark mode in Gmail. It's easy on the eye and interesting, except for the bits with a light grey background. I struggled to read that, suspect it would fail a contrast check too. Otherwise, looks good!
@ernie I also noticed an automatic unsubscribe button, which I think is on the app and not the email itself. It's by the 3 doors menu, where you'd Forward, etc
That's a nice touch (better than making folks hunt for it).
@mattblaze oh that's handy, not heard of that technique before. Is this something that naturally builds up in cameras over time, or particular to situations where you're regularly changing the lens?
"When we blame "laziness" for ... #monopolies, we send the message that our friends have to choose between life's joys and comforts, and a fair economic system that doesn't corrupt our politics, screw over workers, and destroy small, local businesses. This isn't true. It's a lie that monopolists tell to justify their abuse."
Stop shaming individuals for systemic problems. I'm talking to YOU, fellow liberals.
@BethGMS@pluralistic "The very instant corporations become too big to fail, jail or care is the instant that "voting with your wallet" becomes a waste of time."
Wow, yeah, I've never thought about it that way before, even as a long time proponent of wallet voting.
And if you enjoyed Lina Khan's interview, you should absolutely read @pluralistic 's blog today on monopolies. Absolutely spot on, and given me food for thought
@ai6yr man, there's a guy who zips down our street on one. There's no way he's going 25. Admittedly, full leathers and a bike helmet, but still. Barely slows for the intersection, just leans into it like he's riding a Ducati.
Basketball is a team sport. It's why Michael Jordan has 6 rings, and not 15. It's why the best scorer in history (Wilt Chamberlain) isn't the best player in history (Michael Jordan or LeBron James).
@mekkaokereke Well, playing the long game. With a few of the players graduating out, I hope the exposure draws other players to the program. We could do with that. Let's just say there are other things going on in the state that might make it less attractive.
Anyway, like everyone else, it'll be exciting seeing these players go on to the WMBA. Cardoso was phenomenal!
All the real college basketball fans listening to "Caitlin this, and Paige that, and Hailey this, and Mulkey that," knowing that South Carolina is going to win the whole thing.😉
@ai6yr This sort of price gouging ought to be illegal. I tried weeks ago and the best I could find was $300 a day, for cars normally ~$50. By pure chance, I finally found someone doing $150 ish a day.
