And Poland is showing that it is possible. IIRC, in the 90s and early 00s Poland was producing around 95% of its electricity from coal, and now there are times when it's less than 40%. All that in a decade and a half.

The UPP battery I got for the tandem #BikeFriday project has been okay, afaict (or might be part of the hangup that happens in regen braking), but I hate that it has this XLR plug with that fiddly sliding plastic cover, also seems to lack a fuse, unlike the previous generation of generic downtube pack (dolphin) that had a barrel connector charge port. I can see the argument against the barrel connector, but why have a 3-pin port and not include a thermistor? #eBikes

Mastodon's (at least I think it's Mastodon's?) option to mute retoots from an account is a life changer. I feel there is too much traffic on my timeline lately, but I don't want to unfollow people, so muting retoots from some accounts will be a good first step to calm things down

Best case scenario they tax billionaires, properly address climate change, uphold the rights of trans, queer, disabled and first nations people and hold the bastards to account.

Worst case, weed is legalised and we feel a bit nice.

@michael no problem :) I just think we should be cautious with decommissioning nuclear power, when there is still coal and gas power around. In many cases there is still not a 100% viable alternative to nuclear

@michael ok, those are different situations. And I'm surprised, I was sure Australia has some NPPs. If you have only coal and gas, and a ton of place for solar and wind, then it makes some sense to go straight to renewables

Why the hell, whenever I open Facebook (daycare photos :-)) I am greeted with so many reels of half naked woman? I know the internet is made for porn, but come one!

*I don’t allow my kid’s face to be published to FB, but other parents don’t care so I see what they did.
