Amidst a genocide where nearly all researchers agree the is deploying some of the highest intensities of violence ever inflected upon a people in all of recorded history, most Israelis think its still not brutal enough. Only 1.8% of the population believes they are using too much firepower in

, the world's last remaining proper ethnostate, will continue its genocide in the West Bank if the genocidal government is not dismantled. Zionism is a genocidal ideology through-and-through, not to mention an all-out assault on mitzvot. Israel has made its genocidal program clear and is acting on its promises, there is no plausible deniability for liberals to cling to.

#Israel used a drone to massacre a large crowd of starving civilians trying to reach aid arriving in #Gaza, which the #IDF proudly posted on X, claiming that Gazans endangering aid deserve to be summarily killed. Over 200 were murdered in whats now being called "The Massacre of the Starving"

The mayor of accused Yuval Abraham of antisemitism for calling for to stop enabling Israel's genocide in Palestine and an immediate dismantling the apartheid system during his award speech. This should be a wakeup call for Germans but unfortunately it won't be, because for them is merely an alibi for supporting genocide; society routinely hazes any who refuses to provide that alibi, arresting protestors and smearing us with accusations of antisemitism for upholding the core Jewish duty of opposing politics as inscribed in the Gemara of Ketubot 111a:4 of the (most explicitly, but also appearing in various shapes and forms across countless other tractates from Berachot to Avoda Zarah)

Only 34% of 🇺🇸 #Jews oppose a ceasefire, and the vast majority of the country supports it, including over 50% of all Jews. Yet the #ADL continues to spread the malicious lie that says supporting a ceasefire is antisemitic. Because ADL has never been about fighting #antisemitism, which can be demonstrated by the way they claim the Sonnenrad — the notorious Black Sun of white supremacist movements — isn't actually racist on their website, in order to protect the US government's alliances with various white supremacists movements who proudly display the Sonnenrad.

Heads up, if you try to argue the Black Sun is not a white supremacist symbol in my comments, I will block. This is an antifascist zone of discourse.

If aid cant make it to starving people in #Gaza because Israeli protestors are preventing it from entering at the border, shouldnt #Israel be able to just deal with them the way they dealt with the mass peaceful protests in Gaza in 2018, ie killing hundreds of them and maiming thousands more? Or is this some kind of Warsaw Ghetto circumstance, where they desire to kill everybody locked within their walls? #bds #palestine

When we no longer function as objects that Germans can transfer their responsibility for genocide onto — when we no longer serve to act as an insurance policy on their responsibility for crimes of ethnic cleansing, genocide, and the commercial war economy of the imperial core — then suddenly Germans become the victims of antisemitism visited upon the German people by the Jews.

Emily Dische-Becker's research on the targets of 's anti-BDS campaign found that around 1/3 of those de-platformed for their support of are , with 2/3 being mostly Arab and Muslim.

I moved to in 2011, at a time when I was quite successful for my age, having won several high-profile awards for my work, and I was making around $70k/year -- a lot for Berlin, and especially for a 23 year old. Then in 2012 I first traveled to Palestine to participate in the solidarity movement there, and after that my conviction in skyrocketed and it became the focal point of my non-commercial work.

I quickly started to experience the backlash, and gradually became more and more unwelcome in the arts, hacker and intellectual scenes I would frequent, where I was discovering that various people (mostly Germans) had said that I'm an antisemite... everywhere except the Berlin techno scene to be perfectly honest. By the time I left in 2016 I was a proper outcast and was just barely making enough to pay rent.

My commitment to Palestine has only deepened, because the crimes Israel commits against Palestinians daily, for 75+ years before October 7th, aren't just wrong, they are simply unspeakable. I now make only $10K/year, can't even land a job interview, and have to rely totally on word of mouth to find work, so I think its fair to count me among the who have suffered Germany's ire. But I guess my family did too, so I'm just keeping up the tradition.

"The problem is that Israel has a large secular population that is unfortunately outweighed by religious fanatics on both sides"

This is an egregious lie! The largest dissident population in #Israel is, by far, #frum ("ultra-orthodox") Jews, who are regularly trampled and beaten by IDF in al-Quds/Jerusalem for protesting with their Palestinian comrades. The largest frum dynasty in the US (and perhaps the world), Satmar, is extremely anti-Zionist. Even the most complicit frum dynasties like #Chabad-Lubavitch (which is absolutely complicit in Zionism & whose corrupt false messiah Rebbe Schneerson claimed that G-d would hand Netanyahu the scepter to inaugurate the messianic age) officially recognize that Zionism is forbidden by #Torah.

#Jews are not a nation, but a religion. Even the narrative of #EretzIsrael ("The Land of Israel") is a Zionist fabrication (see: Shlomo Sand "The Invention of the Land of Israel & The Invention of the Jewish People); it is the Holy Land, not our homeland. The Hebrew word in Torah for nation is "goyim". None of this was controversial before 1948.

Religious Zionists like Ben-Gvir are as religious as Donald Trump, and most of their distinguishing narratives — such as Jews being "G-d's chosen people" or a Jewish duty to build the Third Temple — are derived from evangelical Christianity, not Judaism (see: Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro's definitive "The Empty Wagon", which demonstrates that Religious Zionists have more in common with Jews for Jesus than Judaism).

Religious Zionism, while finding a timid quasi-justification in the works of the widely belaugured Rav Kook, emerged as a reaction to the liberal anti-Zionism of the likes of Martin Buber that was growing in popularity and international influence in the 60s, when secular ultranationalists of predominantly Irgun & Lehi lineage found justification for their #fascist politics in the works of #JDL founder Meir Kahane, an undercover FBI agent from New York City.

Zionism is a political ideology that promotes sinat chinam (baseless hatred), achieves its goals through shfichus damim (bloodshed) and is a explicit affront to the Three Oaths to which #Jews are bound. Its a secular movement grounded in liberal theories of the nationhood (goyim) and a hatred of yiddishkeit (even banning Yiddish in "Israel"'s early years). Judaism is an exhilic religion that prohibits hatred and demands peace.

Conflating Judaism and Zionism is #antisemitism — dont do it!

rml,

@toxoplasmosis @amerika my solution is a bit simpler; Maimonides, the greatest rabbinic authority since Moshe Rebbeinu, claimed that Islamic government is the most suitable government for Jews in exhile (who are prohibited from forming "Jewish states" by Talmud). So make it a State of Palestine and the problem is solved!

rml,

@chipperdoodles do you understand Syriac? I've been doing my best to read biblical Aramaic when studying Talmud lately, which honestly feels more or less like an enriched biblical Hebrew; in fact in Zohar (which is in a sort of bespoke makeshift pidgin Aramaic) bar Yochau opens with exposition of G-d's process of building up reality from the alphabet of biblical Hebrew (which has no vowels) to Aramaic

rml, (edited )

@chipperdoodles

For sure; I would recommend checking out the Talmud to see if you're interested in learning Palestinian or Babylonian Aramaic, both because the vocabulary of the Talmud is much more minimal than modern language and extremely rhythmic, which makes learning much easier in my experience (especially given websites like Sefaria with interactive hypertext translation), but also simply because its like if James Joyce's autism drove him to formalize a compendium on the Good Life (or perhaps Ecstatic Life is more accurate, but it loses the G-d relation).

People think that Talmud is law, and it certainly resembles law since it has had a significant influence on the structure of contemporary Western law, but it is actually meant to be an overcoming of law, guidelines for assembling an ecstatic community capable of living the Good Life no matter the severity of circumstance, which is a direct affront to the profane law of the State, whose sovereignty is undermined by those who refuse to succumb to the State's demand that we submit to its program of immiseration.

But I can't stress enough how much easier it is to learn biblical semitic languages than modern ones, and how much easier it is to comprehend modern ones when you know a simplified liturgical language. I taught in Palestine for years and would take Arabic classes each time, but never got too far, which I retrospectively believe is due to being overwhelmed by the sheer expressive power, but now I find that its becoming simpler for me to work through sentences, because I have this dictionary of root words that I learned in a more musical style in my head.

rml,

@chipperdoodles

its a nice mix of very being very simple, rhythmic, and structured like verse. sentences that would literally be like "Almighty says mark name, your Lord", but it will read incredibly musical in Aramaic.
