    Friends with benefits might seem like a good idea but it rarely works long term, whether it’s in real life or virtually.

    Having said that, when two naturally flirty people find each other it can be amazing.

    Unfortunately, the people I seem to find all live on the other side of the planet making anything other than a virtual flirt (or more) impossible.

    One day, I will meet someone who lives not only in the same time zone as me, but in the same country, maybe even the same city!

    Until then … good thing my virtual game is pretty good 😉😈😂

    @melissabeartrix because they ask the stupidest questions (and yes, I am aware that when I am a customer, I ask stupid questions) and it’s really tiring answering the same question 20 times, especially when they’re not understanding the answer.

    Also, people not having manners is exhausting.

    Have been reworking a short MS, and am now tearing apart a poem (while drinking a pint of iced coffee) trying to re-arrange the pieces, decoupe-style, to see if there are other possibilities that might work.

    @MrAndrewD @melissabeartrix @Caiotekit do the different flavours of Shapes count? There’s been a few “new” flavours that have worked. Nacho Cheese was meant to be a limited run, I think, but proved very popular.

    Also, most dark chocolate versions of milk chocolate things are better.

    This week at the we’re talking about what made you fall in love with poetry.

    Did you discover a particular poet?

    Did someone introduce you to the art?

    Was it a style of poetry that caught your attention?

    For me, I always loved poetry, even though I didn’t know it was called poetry - Dr Seuss, Pixie O’Harris, Lewis Carroll - but it wasn’t until I was explicitly taught poetry in high school at age 13 that I discovered that it was something I liked doing and really began a love affair with it. So, I guess all the thanks go to Mrs Dixon, my English teacher.

    Somebody asked me recently if I feel like I'm pouring out a million thoughts in a rush when I'm writing. No, I said, it's more like when you're squeezing really thick frosting out of a piping bag and you're slooooooowly pushing it out and trying to make designs that look half-decent on your cake but the frosting keeps getting stuck and you have to constantly squash it while also attempting to be artful.

    @annaleen this is such an accurate description. And sometimes the colour doesn’t look the same after it’s on the cake so you have to start again 😂

    This is a weird request, but I figure the worst I can get for it is silence. I'm totally #blind and have very bad hearing. To set up a device through its inaccessible software, I'm in need of a sighted person for about an hour and a half to two hours who can access a computer remotely, speaks and reads English, and can describe images and graphs. The person needs to be quite patient with follow-up questions, needs to be willing to repeat if needed, as well as be able to click on items and describe what happens on the screen. The person needs to be fairly detail oriented because some of the images appear to have arrows and other ways to expand them, according to the manual. Though I'm happy to be reasonable, I have no clue how much to offer as payment, this is my first request of this kind. I'm posting it because I know we have some blind people here who may be able to point me towards someone who has done this before and may be willing to do it for such a short period.     @techsinger there’s an app called “Be My Eyes” (I know it’s available on apple, not sure about other platforms) where sighted people can describe things for people who have sight impairment. I don’t use it so not sure if it’s exactly what you’re looking for but it’s the only thing I can think of that might be even close to what you want.

    @dancinyogi I had to pick “I don’t drink coffee” even though I sometimes do because my average coffee consumption would not be anywhere near 1 a day. It might average out to 1 or 2 a month.

    Not eavesdropping but the guy at the table next to me on the phone is telling his mate how he’s worried about another one of their friends because they didn’t seem themselves and offered to take them out to do something on the weekend.

    That is mateship. That is looking after your friends mental health.

    This is what we all should be doing.

    We need to talk more about mental health. Talk to yourself, talk to those you trust, talk to professionals. Whatever it takes.
