It generates text. I'm having a hard time seeing what text it generated that was so dangerous (that you or I couldn't generate). Format, style, we could copy these things too...

I'm actually going to call "BS" on this and say OpenAI wants you to think they are making something so great it's dangerous when it's really just not that scary. They love the "AI is scary" hype train while they output no new products in a year.

It's just not that capable. I couldn't get it to make Trump jokes. I don't know about it taking instructions to come about the downfall of democracy. [They are using it in a pipeline, but nothing different than a GOOD hired writer could do - they want you to use the product]

@kfury I hate this headline with a passion. Apple was caught off guard by ChatGPT - everyone was. They are now making machines that can train a rival LLM (mentioned in the keynote upon release, they can train a transformer model). They are hardly "behind" as much as doing what Apple does - waiting and wanting it to be right.

Notice how quickly Microsoft has jumped in? That tells me it's not ready for prime time and they are desperate to hit a home run.

If employers have been unable to prosper due to a skills shortage then that AI may be enhance productivity looks like good news....

But, if employers are unable to find staff because they don't pay enough & offer rubbish working conditions, then a move to AI will confirm capitalists want to replace workers with technology, as they have done before, but now in the service sector(s).
