@steeznson @feliks It's so bad. Using poetry when you're dependencies are simple, pinning versions for no reason. It's a real tell of incompetence. Cargo culting. People even put it on their resumes thinking it is a good thing lol. Most times you find that they install libaries for like ten lines of code. Like the solo library just to implement a singleton. It's wild. It's like getting on that elderly relative's windows desktop and finding they have installed 'all the things' 😂

@madopal @steeznson @feliks No you are right. In this case it was horribly wrong even implementing it with your own. The repo is a complete car crash. Not sure what I am meant to do with devs like this. In their defence they are amateurs, data scientists doing dev work, so its a clueless mess. Inappropriate use of mypy and linters out the door. They classes which are a single line method calling another single line method. So many mixins often redundant. They think they are gud though...

@radicalrobit It's not for everyone in the meeting? I cannot attend every meeting since many of them are concurrent - under my reports are dozens of sprints and various customer meetings. I'd like the avatar to come get me if they start killing each other again. Otherwise it gives me the exec summary later and I can ask it if there were any shenanigans I should be aware of. Sell this and people will buy it. Why? Because they are idiots and have capex.

@bruces OCGs are stealing copper in UK. One of our old sites had its own power generation and substation. Breaking into this facility is a good way to get yourself unalived for a number of reasons. We think they only knew, just that there was a lot of copper there. They had specialists, engineers including climbing electricians, a couple of trucks, loaders and a spare weekend.

I’m making a new religion that turns libraries into religious institutions and our most holy practice is going to the library and reading books. On the weekend we all get together and read silently together at the library. Our holy leaders are our librarians as they are guides to knowledge.

This way it makes it significantly harder to defund libraries. 😈

@littledetritus This is complete and utter tosh. Some people use spreadsheets. Our data scientists use collab notebooks mostly. I think their PhDs indicate they are quite serious about data. I can't imagine what leads people to such bombastic statements. spicy shitpost I guess. fair enough.

So have a browser. Well - let's give it a spin. Do we add this to PUP list? Installed it on a brand new stock Windows laptop. The first thing you get is some sort of induction/onboarding screen, 1 of 4 - groan ok, first page obvious information, second page ... a video... I can't see how to stop this and just start using the browser, because tempus fugit. Nope. Onboard or Uninstall that is your options. Uninstalled.
