The experience of reading this was of a high eerie whistling sound coming from somewhere high up as the first batch of quotations scrolled by and then a series of explosions getting closer and louder
I really want to know if there are academic studies or something quantifying people's driving getting crappier post-pandemic. Today I saw someone totally use a left turn lane with a green arrow to speed straight through an intersection past cars stopped at a red light. If someone going the other way had been turning left it would have been a head-on collision.
“In the following report, we provide a framework for risk assessments of algorithmic components of platforms that provides a foundation for comprehensive platform risk assessments…”
Hey, I made us a little playlist: nineteen quotes about “artificial intelligence”, spanning a few hundred years. https://ethanmarcotte.com/wrote/generative/

(posting this here so as not to seem churlish towards the OP but uhhh, this testing phenom isn't very new and this piece has a lot of telltale signs. We are really in hell)
Don’t sleep on Constellation. It’s slow paced but not slow bad.
This is a good resource for sorting out what’s happening with the Open Collective Foundation (not Open Collective the platform or Open Source Collective) shutdown. It’s pretty gnarly. A lot of good people will be trying to offer safe landings for the projects who got this news out of nowhere.
I have to go workout. Covid is really scaring the shit out of me when it comes to my heart. I have issues and now, I'm afraid.☹️
so nothing happened on here in the five or so days I was offline, right? definitely no things
I want my pre-pandemic life back
Pretty excited this news is finally out. I'm joining @brianboyer in helping the Chicago Reader get their web experience as awesome as the rest of their reporting.
The Reader was my first gig out of college. It's nice to come home.
am half bald, lost most of my eyebrows, have no eyelashes left, am about 40 lbs overweight and paler than death but i did it, AM DONE WITH #CHEMO AND I GOT TO RING THAT FUCKING BELL!!!
next up: radiation and a year of immunotherapy. but for now am greatful. it could have been worse after landing in the emergency room TWICE, once for #COVID19, the other for a blood clot that also had me a week in the hospital.
i rang that bell with my sons, and i got to say with my whole chest, #fuckCancer.
It’s nice to read about the other fedi projects but I’m not moving my big old arse anywhere without a mobile (iPhone) app. No, I don’t care about the browser version. I need an app. (Client- or whatever it called-NO I DONT WANT TO KNOW HOW IT CALLED)
