I am honestly kind of amazed that so many #DRMFree bookstores don’t carry romance or are for sciFi and Fantasy books and no other genres. If there is a DRM free bookstore that sells all genres and both indie and big name authors, let me know! I’m having a really hard time finding one, legal, bookstore that I can go to. Since I can’t immediately locate one, you know, if you wanted to make such a store, I guarantee you, you would make a fortune off of this. I know Bookshop is working on one but I really did want to see if they weren’t reinventing the wheel that someone else has already created. It appears like the DRMfree bookstore that sells multiple genres, including romance and erotica, and also including independent as well as big name authors simply doesn’t exist yet. Just saying, if anybody wanted to make such a store, you would be making easy money, I guarantee it. #Publishing #bookstodon

What a shit analogy. The VCR wasn't built using stolen parts of movie projectors or OTA antennas. Kinda bummed to see EFF taking that position.

Much of OpenAI's training sets are unlicensed copy written material.

Solution: Pay a licensing fee, Make inclusion in training sets Opt-in (not out).

It's really quite simple.

On The 1A they're talking about “Lab Grown meat" and people are calling in that "ew I can't imagine eating lab grown meat. So gross.”

Yet they think that chicken that was 4x the size of a chicken from the 1950s is perfectly “OK”

Or the cow pumped full of hormones and whatnot.

It's interesting how some folks view the world and how narrowly so many are informed.

Sure some of it is a marketing hurdle, and some is factory farm lobbies crying foul.

But our world can't support what we're doing

The self-verification system built into Mastodon should be one of its greatest selling points. This is especially true for journalists and everyone else for whom evidence of identity has huge value in the social media realm.

But anecdotally -- and I would wager for real -- most people in the craft, even a lot of technically adept folks, don't seem to know how easy self-verification can be here.

If you are trying to persuade a journalist you know to join up, please highlight this feature.
