Depressing to see someone actively tooting about #gaza respond to one of my posts and denying #Uyghur #forcedlabor. Not the first time I've seen or experienced this.

Though, notably, I've yet to meet an actual #Palestinian who does this. It's nearly always western leftists.

So I follow some weather accounts (NWS) that are forwarded from Twitter and whatever is doing the forwarding does it like once every 2 days which is completely useless for weather forecasts.

Anyone follows me who works at NWS or knows someone? Please NWS, post your stuff directly to Mastodon.

So, it turns out that the series Law & Order has a version of the show: Law & Order Toronto. I'm weirdly excited that a big series like that actually names Toronto in the title - and that the action takes place here. Maybe it's been running a while, but I heard about it today on the news because Toronto's mayor, Olivia Chow, has a cameo in tomorrow (Thursday) night's episode. And the episode blurb is something about .
The nachos are ready and the machine is set to record.

I wish we could take the cameras out of the House of Commons. It was bad enough when politicians were playing for a clip on the evening news; now they're angling for a clip they can share on social media.

Parliament would work better if the real audience speakers were addressing were the other MPs in the House.

Out of curiosity, Apple is expected to unveil some LLM-powered features in iOS 18 year…if they reveal that they trained their model on properly licensed data and their model runs 100% on device with negligible battery impact, would the bigger AI skeptics still hate it?

@matt yes but they hate everything. They often don’t like Apple anyway they aren’t the target market for those features.

A few brave Singaporeans unfurled this banner in front of the iconic Marina Bay Sands, in a country where any public protest is illegal without prior approval and approved protests are only allowed at one park (and the authorities already said all registered protest applications relating to Gaza will be denied)

If they were foreigners they would almost certainly be deported. As citizens they’ll definitely see some legal action

Any of you guys have videos on a Mac you want to watch on your Apple TV? I’m curious if you use Plex, Infuse, or Jellyfin and if you enjoy it.

I’ve been using Infuse, but good lord is it unreliable for me. The library doesn’t like to update when new files are added and the video…buffers…constantly…despite being on a fast network.

They did compile CBC/Radio-Canada together (may be?) but ignored TVA and all large francophone press.

always interesting to me when orgs try to show the “Canadian” perspective but just entirely ignore a big chunk of the country. Plus ça change…

@msquebanh It's fine information, don't get me wrong, but as a francophone when we read something about "Canada" and they just pretend we don't exist, it's just insulting. They could have just called it English-Canadian media landscape instead, would have been fine. But Francophone medias also have a long history of having foreign correspondants, many of them have also disappeared, would have been important to mention it and research it.
