Any of you guys have videos on a Mac you want to watch on your Apple TV? I’m curious if you use Plex, Infuse, or Jellyfin and if you enjoy it.
I’ve been using Infuse, but good lord is it unreliable for me. The library doesn’t like to update when new files are added and the video…buffers…constantly…despite being on a fast network.
@matt I’ve been on Plex for years now and it’s always been very reliable and stable for me.
I’ve been thinking about looking elsewhere after they changed some “social stuff”, but you can switch it off in settings, and after it being so stable for so long switching would be stupid tbh.
Using the Plex app on all devices.
@matt Curious what you are using for sharing with Infuse? SMB?
That what I use to watch videos on the Apple TV that are stored on my Mac, and it’s honestly pretty reliable for me
@nileane I’ve got an M2 Mac mini plugged into Ethernet for all my file sharing stuff. For whatever reason, I have more trouble with Infuse than anything else 😔
@matt I use Plex. It works and that’s enough for me. Tried Infuse/Jellyfin, but balked at needing to spend out to watch files with a particular audio codec.
@jerome Ooh, that’s interesting. It really is just a folder of videos, so I don’t need any organization or fancy stuff (it’s mostly saved YouTube videos). I’ll add this to the list!
