According to new #data collected by #TheHub, there could now be less than 60 FT #Canadian #ForeignCorrespondents left abroad from major outlets, with 45 of them working for the CBC.

There appears to be no permanent #Canadian #correspondents based in the #MiddleEast, #Russia, or mainland #China.

They did compile CBC/Radio-Canada together (may be?) but ignored TVA and all large francophone press.

always interesting to me when orgs try to show the “Canadian” perspective but just entirely ignore a big chunk of the country. Plus ça change…

Dune Part 2 opens at $81.5M domestic, the biggest opening since Barbie last year. Pretty damn impressive for a 2.5 hour sci fi flick with no superheroes.

Étude sur le transport collectif au Canada Environ 1700 autobus dorment dans des garages

C'est un gros problème notamment à Toronto où les garages sont pleins de bus inutilisés. On finance l'achat de bus et pas le service, même si certaines lignes de bus sont à capacité.

@jfmezei je connais seulement la situation à Toronto mais avec le TTC, l’idéal serait avoir 20% de spare pour maintenance, etc. Mais ils sont à 35%!!

@torspedia @viticci yeah seems like a fundamental flaw as servers are automatically added to the network so you can just keep recreating new instances and will always get in.

Dorval airport which had setup for yet another grandios project of creating a glass dome over airport, which required building a new parking lot had been financially incapable of finishing this parking lt for year. Now, it appears they have finished it and is closed to being readu to open. P4 is on wouth wetern end of airport compound, south of the US terminal. Not open yetr but appears close

@pollute_my_lungs @heliomass they are traditionally center left on economical issues. Also historically close to unions. Of course some stuff have shifted with QS taking a bigger share of the left urban vote.

TIL that there was a CNoR railway line through my neighbourhood. It's been gone for decades (likely before my street was built) but it's shaped the neighbourhoods all around it. I can't think of any parts where there are any visible remains, even

@heliomass curious on how the Toronto fare integration will really work. Say you take local bus in that irish town O'Shawa to the Go Train then take Go Train, then TTC subway and then TTC bus

When you tap onto O'Shawa bus, it doesn't know you are about to take train and charges only local rate. Will Go Train then charge you difference between local bus and train to Toronto or accept your bus fare as transfer? after which all taps are just transfers? Will there be zones line MTL?

The objective were not the same but it also has the benefit of requiring a lot less changes, residents don’t have to change anything in their habits or need to understand zones, etc. Nobody will pay more than they are today (many started having to pay more at Longueuil/Laval metro)

You just get a discount for transferring, essentially.

Not saying it’s better but this was meant as a quick and easy solution.

It's so satisfying to see a problem fixed so clearly 🧘

When More Birchtree rolled out, I had a DNS config issue that caused a good chunk of emails specifically to iCloud addresses to be rejected by Apple's webserver. This meant people weren't always getting their magic login links, which was not good.

I worked on the issue that evening and every email since then has successfully delivered. Feels good 😁
