Lots of people (including Apple) put full-color icons on each top-level row in Settings these days.
I'm experimenting with using monochrome SF Symbols there. I may not ship it this way, but it's kinda fun, and it lets me use the same icons that are used for the corresponding features throughout the rest of the app.
Maybe that improves consistency and understanding, especially since I don't currently have localized strings.
This is a great article, and I am 100% delighted by their description of me!! "Lawler has been an academic Chicken Little for years about the danger of freefalling space shit, especially in a time when space travel has been privatized and so many bored billionaires would rather spend their money playing Spaceman Spiff than, say, solving world hunger or the climate crisis"
Saw a clip of the Agatha series actors bragging that the show has very little CG. The magic was all…practical. Who cares? What is this obsession? CG is only an issue for the director and creative people on the movie and accountants, and if it distracts by looking unreal while watching a TV show or movie. An unhealthy focus that feels anti-VFX worker, when there’s so much VFX in media that nobody realizes. This series captures the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ttG90raCNo&t=937s
@glennf they are mostly lying and are. Till using them plenty of VFC, special efffects, CGI, and whatnot. The professionals in the industry have just really good at it.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was when McDonald's gave out those coupons for free sundaes when they totally knew their stupid ice cream machine was going to be down.
I’m glad HW 3 made it into being. I’m a bit sad it was over so quickly though. I do have some awesome physical models and whatnot that can in the physical edition at least.
