Anyone know/recommend somewhere that can machine steel/stainless plate, either CNC, water jet, plasma or laser cut is fine.
I'd planned to get some machining done with JLCPCB however I've just realised they don't offer steel...

@mcdanlj @concretedog @czinehuba @FreeCAD I've used LinuxCNC on a beagle bone black for years with my milling machine; the two 200MHz co-processors deal with the real-time stuff while the UI runs on the main processor. It's called Machine kit but I'm not convinced it's still actively developed ๐Ÿค”โ˜น๏ธ

@mcdanlj @concretedog @czinehuba @FreeCAD how does RPi handle the real time stuff? - I remember years ago there being a push to get LinuxCNC working on RPi but the real time requirement being a challenge.

He's not going to tax profits. He's not going to tax CEOs. But he is going to make sure we all have to pay more on our energy bills by leaving them uninsulated.
I can't even.

@fkamiah17 It's much much worse that that though - through inaction, the cost of mitigating the climate effects coming down the line are likely to be unimaginably huge, dwarfing covid spending; think economy and potentially civilisation collapsing levels - most politicians just can't or won't think ahead of the election cycle. For all the good it will do, I think folk now have to vote Green if they have the option.

So the laser printer that I just bought has been reduced by ยฃ20 AFTER I buy it. Amazon won't refund the difference, but I can send it back for a refund and repurchase it.

@biglesp is that capitalism eats the world or computer says no? Either way it's stupid ๐Ÿคฆ

Anyone in the UK collect or have an interest in old hand operated sewing machines? I've had this in my shed for years and it needs to go to a new home.
