I don't actually have time today to work on any side projects, but I thought I'd run through the basic setup steps for MonoGame aaaand

./bin/Debug/net6.0/MyGame
bash: ./bin/Debug/net6.0/MyGame: cannot execute: required file not found

... which required file ._. ???

I think this sort of thing means it tried to dynamically link something and failed. I run into this whenever I try to run loose builds of Linux games on #NixOS, but idk what to do about it.

@aeva I’m sorry this has been so painful :( My experience with nix has been similarly frustrating at times. The declarative nature has paid off dividends to me but game dev may be different.

i had a great bikepacking trip planned for this weekend, but yesterday i wiped out pretty bad and hit the ground with my face, i cancelled the trip and im gonna go get checked, i worry about concussion

In the non-alcoholic beverage space, I noticed that our local Flora Hall brewery offers this "Hop Water" product which sounds intriguing. Might have to swing by there to pick up a few things.

4-year-old has been playing a lot of Cities Skylines and I periodically hear him shouting things like "Everyone wants more windmills!" and "I built bus lanes across the highway!" Warms the heart.

    @lzg i'll be honest, i don't think i'd be living in canada right now if i hadn't had access to a laptop as a kid, i self taught how to code and allow me to get jobs and emigrate. born in Chile in the 90s. I don't have strong opinions about the project either way, but I saw with my own eyes the importance of access to technology (in the right hands, saw also a tremendous amount of misuse/waste)

    @lzg is this like a “wine is not healthy, wine drinkers are wealthier" kind of situation? i don't really get your point but i'm not saying it's not true, I just want to add another voice to the conversation. i didn't always have access to computers! i come from a rural background, we didn't make much, it was hard having access to technology or "a normal school”. i didn't have internet at home until like 2010.

    dear lazy web: I am looking to buy a laptop. I'd like something smol, sturdy, decent keyboard, doesn't look like an apple product, has a strong CPU, a bunch of ram (ideally replaceable), and an ok GPU (Intel is fine). I'd like to be able to run Linux on it. Some nice-to-haves are a touch screen, the ability to fold the screen around and use it like a tablet, and being relatively easy to repair.

    What's good these days?

    EDIT: I just put in an order for a Framework 13

    @grivettcarnac if you didn’t input any information you’re likely fine. if you want to be 1000% sure of what could have happened, and you still have the link in history, someone could do “forensic analysis” to understand the impact of what could have happened (ie figure out what your dog put in their mouth) but it’s likely not worth it! best for this is to always check for sus URLs before clicking and keep devices up to date, both browser and OS.

    Reverse side for previous. All mid-dots hidden, so it is in only black and white, with a sparser composition, and larger portions that are pure white or black. It is also upside down, so the constriction in the side dots is at the bottom.
