Have you ever stopped listening to or trusting a person who posts information in media, or online because of a "red flag" ?
That is are there certain topics, habits, actions etc. that instantly decrease your trust in a person you might have otherwise listened to on a podcast, article, or video?
@futurebird Both-sides-ism (performative neutrality) or being on the wrong side of a major issue (transphobic, homophobic, climate denier, science denier, etc).
@EPIKURAS The issue is not time zones, it's time standards: time passes more quickly on the Moon due to General Relativity, so the Moon needs its own time standard. Also, the Earth rotates relative to the Moon so there is no preferred Earth time zone.
I got a chance to have a baby kangaroo on my lap for the first time! 😍
He felt all angular legs & tail pushing round inside his rescue pouch.
My son does wildlife rescue. This poor sweetie lost his mother – she was hit by a car. 😢 He goes to a registered foster home now, & is big enough to do fine. 🤞 🤞 🤞
Do you see a series of sunken rectangles or 16 circles?
This is The Coffer Illusion.
Our brains are geared toward identifying objects & here, “pixels” are grouped to form edges & contours, shapes, & objects. The image is inherently ambiguous so there is no “right” grouping.
Rectangles dominate first for most people - including me, but keep staring & the image may flip to circles.
Do not ask a language model questions involving reasoning, factuality, or moral judgment. Language is a vehicle for those, but it is not the SOURCE of them. And there is an enormous amount of language in the public sphere that’s devoid of them—and that trained the models.
@Cdespinosa When I was younger I remember reading theories that the human facility of cognition is identical to our facility of language. I think we're seeing evidence now disproving that idea.
